Damn @NPHuskerFL. Would love to have access to that on Friday nights when we go offshore.  We usually take 400-600 lbs depending on how long we plan to be out and what the bite has been like.  That thing would make it easy for us!

@Sea2Ski I have a 600# with decent recovery. Come & get it for FREE. Note it is at my home and haven't used it in years. I get ice for free so I see no need in wasting Kw or water. Seriously you can have it. The head and bin. Manitiwoc head with a 650-800 storage bin.

The guy doing the briskets for our hood pool party picked up the smoker this morning. I believe we ended up with 8 13-15 pounders. I have just under 100lbs of burnt ends to do probably gonna resort to the vertical but may try to get them in the XL. I'm gonna be hanging out all Friday night messing around with this.
    Did he rent the setup?
Yes he rents the same one twice a year. $100 he picks it up Thursday and has it for the weekend.

Just watched the "Flick of the wrist II" video, then ordered the book.  Highly recommended if you ride motorcycles.
Did you mean "Twist of the Wrist"?  I have "Flick of the Wrist", and it's a booger video.
I didn't care for the TOTW videos, seems it was just guys in riding suits, drawing curves with magic markers on charts, and then sinking their heads in their hands.  I got a lot more out of David Hough's books.

And on a somewhat-related note, not this Saturday but next Saturday, I'll be doing my very first "Track Day" at Miller Motorsports Park, at age 56!  I'll be riding Pig (my R1200 GS) rather than my 600cc Yamaha (which is for sale), but even Pig will have more capabilities than its owner.   :D  I'm not looking to burn up the track, rather check off a Bucket List item.  Pics to follow!

Recovering from the foot injury very well, yesterday was my first day in the field without the space boot.
Still slow as ever but getting around much better.
    Thanks for asking.
Hoping all is grand for you my friend.
I am well....just getting in from a long road trip (work)...and looking forward to the weekend.

My Beautiful Wife is stuck in KC tonight due to bad decisions for flight plans. She will be back tomorrow sometime, still working out the details on how to get home. Not a lot of options. Hopefully she will have learned something.
Time to prep for the weekend brother, any plans?
Oh yeah.....squeezed a bunch of grapefruit and have a new handle of Toto's. I have a chuck roast, pork ribs and TriTip (from SRF) that I am looking forward to cooking this weekend. Then there is the chasing of the wife around the house. Bound to run her down at least once before she tires out. If I have to, I'll chaser before my morning Bloody. I have a plan.

You two enjoy yourselves.....and by all means....eat good.
If and when you are able to catch her,  Make sure she is the one bragging about it!
We are hosting a dinner party this weekend, doing a prime brisket for that, Ribs today/tonight, and some massive porterhouse steaks Monday.
Just got a case of Bordeaux in yesterday, it is killer.

We successfully killed the keg last night. Got another hour of work then going to get a keg of 420 and then come home and prep the shoulders for our pool party Saturday. Right at 90lbs of pork burnt ends on the way.

Wish I could....still recovering from the west coast trip. Plan to be home and relax all weekend here in Cola. Gonna get reacquainted with the Eggs and wife. Picked up the new Bob Dylan disc and plan to give it a couple of spins. You guys enjoy and by all means.....have fun. Give my best to the Mrs.

If you can, find a southern rhone rosé blend with Grenache as a major player. If you do find it, grab a couple bottles, because, if you don't, you will have wished you had. It is awesome with this cook.
Also, our children, and their friends, love it when I add the left over preserves to a "red" BBQ sauce.
Them Carolina "gentlemen" have ruined me with that Carolina sauce. I put it on my ham sammies now.
@bgebrent I hope you enjoy them as much as we do. My Beautiful Wife will not have it any other way, and when we have friend over, that is the first request for the meal.

Catch a breath brother, got my wife back home last night, and we have a couple of dinner parties planned, and just doing some kicking back.
My neighbor, from across the street (a really fascinating person that should be doing the Dos Equis commercials) has revealed to me he has music from old recording sessions done in studios in different cities around the world.
This is the music of old USO tours, captured on Reel2Reel. He is going to convert, if possible, digitally.
He is taking them to the Louisville Magnetic Tape company this week.
He told me there is a ton of soul and rock, as well as country. He also said he would get me a copy.

I am being reminded i told a friend I would do a century (cycle 100 miles) on memorial day.  I haven't trained properly.  I have probably been on the trainer twice in 2 months.  This will be brutal.  At least we are stopping for donuts, a burger, and a beer along the way. . . . those will be good times.
