picked up a couple hot pork pies from the local butcher shop for breakfast

Not sure why, but this is making me very hungry.  Reminds me of pasties which are one of my favorite comfort foods.

the trick is to bite thru the crimped edge, drink the juices from the top, then have a pepper shaker in hand while eating. he makes several kinds but pork is the big seller, maybe 5000 sold a day. people come in with several coolers and do day trips to pick them up

So that crown, is it bespoke for the person on the throne, or adjustable like a baseball cap?

He’s so white and fluffy. It’s almost as though he’s metamorphosing into a tampon.

King Charles ride pulled out in front of us when we were over in England. He was riding passenger so I couldn't get a very good picture but I figured it had to be someone important coming out of a random driveway as security stopped the four of us walking on the sidewalk with some pretty heavy firepower. Our British friends freaked out when seeing him. My wife and I were like, "There he is."

I didn't watch anything of the coronation (except the News) but some show on CBS started playing tonight (ET?) and I ended up watching some of the behind the scenes stuff.  Quite an elaborate day, they shouldn't do that to a guy in his 70's.  His first crown (mostly gold and 5.5 lbs) definitely didn't not have a cap adjustment on it, they pretty much pounded it onto his head (I guess the "Annointing Oil" was vegan, so there's that).
And now there's a show called "Bob Loves Abishola", I recognize the male actor but does he have AIDS?  He's lost more weight than Drew Carrey!   :o

Is he holding a Derby bottle of Blanton’s?!?
@ColbyLang - that was my first thought as well.  However, unlike you I don't have access to a unicorn Blanton's Derby bottle.  Although I would guess Brown-Froeman (parent of Woodford Reserve) would push back extremely hard were it to be attempted.

Replacing pool fill solenoid valve aka Rainbird irrigation valve. It was leaking. Proud of myself for realizing it was leaking out of the serviceable side. Almost cut out the PVC to replace.

Nice and accessible too!  I just had to service 4 valves and replace some solenoids.  Some pack rats took up residence in my irrigation control box.  Not only did I have to evict them, I had to then clean out the box of there detritus and poo, but then had to rewire everything.

I was swearing up a storm.  Even made up some new words.  Pack rats around here stuff everything with cholla cactus (the worst kind of cacti).  So you are also constantly getting stabbed and stuck.  They stick to your boots, go right through jeans and gloves.  Basically like an a thousand inanimate porcupines littering everything within 10 feet of their nest.

Something caught my eye as I was driving down the road and I happened to glance over to see what caught my eye. As I lock into my target to see what caught my eye, I see an older dude with a pistol aiming his gun fully drawn at my windshield. I didn't have much time to react as it all happened in a split second. I said in my head, "WTF was that?" I looked out my rearview mirror and it was clear as day it was a handgun. Counting my blessings. That would have kind of sucked for a Tuesday evening...

That would have made the news in most countries.  But ho-hum…not here…just another day.

@WeberWho - Dang-glad you were spared. But perhaps there were those "Who weren't!"  Therein is a very serious issue-I get that if the answer was easy we wd have figured it out by now.  It's not but it's time to push back on some of the positions that enable this to occur,  Incremental change can make a difference.
In this day and age, no one is safe from that behavior anymore.
Trending back to the Wild, Wild, West where everyone in public carried a gun.  We are better than that.

Without getting into too much detail we had someone here in town who was decapitated with a knife in the middle of a busy street one sunny afternoon. It hardly made the news locally. The guy was released on bond for a previous conviction and let back on the streets.

@lousubcap - I have to disagree with your perception of the Wild, Wild, West.  Numerous towns during that era restricted the carrying of weapons.  One article about that subject is here...
