Since we are C'ing it, 2*C here and hoping to hit 6*C Saturday.  Then the warm up begins for a few days.
Life in the winter here that generally hovers around the 0* C +/-2* area with the precipitation makes for the full assortment.
However, on Dec 23rd we hit -22*C ( the coldest in 30+ years).
Dang, 273 Kelvin is no joke.
Too much math for a dummy like me. Guess I could google the conversion.

A gas pipeline that delivers gas, diesel and jet fuel to southern Nevada was shut down for a few days.

Of course people are freaking the f*ck out. It’s like toilet paper shortage on steroids.

My first AF assignment was at WPAFB, Dayton OH.  The winters were right around the freezing point with very high humidity, and I froze to death.  Nothing as bad as growing up in South Dakota, and even being stationed in Grand Forks ND for 3 years.  Everyone talks about the humidity in hot climes, but it's even worse in cold climes, damn that was miserable.
I'm staying out here in the West for my last few years, even if I have to buy bottled water.

Sorry I missed the opportunity @BigreenGreg
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
  • Oh man, cannot wait for BLT's with homegrown tomatoes this summer!

I gotta order some dukes and see what the hype is about. I haven't found anywhere locally that carries it.

You can order it on Amazon if you want.

Random pet peeve I just thought about while making a grocery list….  2 liter sodas. They’re trash IMO. Cheaper than individual cans/bottles, but only good for one or two cups worth before they go flat.  They’re ok for birthday parties since they’ll be consumed quickly. But day to day, I gotta have my smack in the can. And they’ve inflated in price about as much as eggs.

That's exactly right.  That's why we seem like major pussies here in NOLA. When it gets cold, most of the time it's a wet cold and it chills you to the bone.

I've spent lots of Winter time in Iowa and Minnesota and the cold is much more tolerable up there because it's so dry.  The downside is chapped everything, fortunately for me I don't get chapped, especially by aholes I might (seldomly) encounter here but in the OT.

Getting my fountain ready now that winter is over.  Had it winterized for the last 2 weeks.  Birds will be glad.

Cooking my daughter’s birthday dinner, she wanted Chicken and Waffles. Told Alexa to play classic rock. She spits out Creed. I’m officially getting old.

@lkapigian - that is some sweet looking protein right there.  You obviously have a great source if you can find that on demand.
    Eating very well tomorrow.
    Enjoy the cook.

  • Just got home from my favorite brewery in the state with some great people. Kids went down without a fight. Solid Saturday. Waiting on winter to bail now so I can repeat this in tolerable outdoor weather.
