My 13 year old just beat me at 8 ball for the first time ever. I scratched shooting the 8 in the first game but he beat me outright on the second to take 2 out of 3. Proud of him but also feeling old.

Time waits for no one.  I recall when my oldest son (now 35) beat me at ping-pong for the first time when I played opposite favored hand.  That move was a delay tactic that worked for around 3 years-then "down came the house of cards," never to be rebuilt.  Needless to say his 4 year younger brother had a much easier path to victory.

This is for a buddy of mine in Missouri. His 4 legged partner has already passed and is sealed in the bird. He is a fellow carver and we each did a “trade bird”
after my girl passed.. I’m a much slower carver.. I’ll post pics of my girl (she in a hen mallard) when I get a chance
Got a couple of days left of painting then about a week to cure before he migrated home .

So I’m going to a music festival tomorrow and my oldest son has talked my youngest son into going fishing with him in my stead.  I think that’s fvcking awesome. The youngest does not like spinner rod fishing, has never been fly fishing.
On second thought, this may turn out to be an unmitigated disaster.  They are trying to prep and matthew is like, “none of those look like a fly.”

@Ozzie_Isaac. Have to give him credit for the idea. He reached out to me after her passing. Definitely a cool idea. I feel bad it’s taken me as long as it has to keep my end of the bargain. But some of her ashes are at his place .. and I’m turn I kept a small handful separate to spread at the pond every duck dog I’ve had has trained in

  • theres nothing to inspect on an electric, either you wired the two wires correctly, or they are backwards and it does not heat. your new one wont last 17 years
Kentucky requires a plumbing inspector to look at it and slap the green sticker on it. AKA another tax

    Well, bad news.

My buddy is an avid cyclist.  Just under 1000 miles per month.  He was out riding for Wish a mile,  a 3 day 300 mile ride here in Michigan, it benefits the make a wish fountain. Today a drunk driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and hit 5 of the 500 cyclists riding in this event.  2 dead,  3 seriously injured.  Just before noon today.  The rest of the ride is canceled.  Tomorrow would have been the last 100 miles.  I did this ride a few years back with him.  I can't fathom this. He's fine but dang.

That is terrible.  I am glad your friend physically ok.  I have a close friend who was killed Oct. 11th 2012.  Completely clear straight road.  80+ year old lady hit her at 65.  Last ride before her and her husband were leaving for vacation.

I also saw a car turn into and run over two cyclists.  This is all enough to never ride on the road.  Cyclists do not stand a chance against cars.

That wish a mile ride is so much safer feeling though.  Police escorts,  blocked roads.  A glob of cyclists together all the time. . . Still no chance against a drunk driver.

That is terrible. Last year, I think, we had a guy high on meth driving a box truck hit a group of cyclist riding a 100 mile loop. Killed 4-5. Never take a day for granted.

@kl8ton - Absolutely terrible to read.  Glad your friend is physically okay but I'm sure getting past the mental piece will be a challenge.  I hope the driver gets the max sentence.
