    Lock picking?
Yup, was a hobby I initially picked up 20 years ago while working in a machine shop.  Recently picked it back up (pun not intended).  Through the years I have helped many friends get into houses, cars, even a safe once (on a bet).

Listening to my 2 channel setup, drinking a bourbon, and picking locks is a nice way to unwind after a day spent in meetings.

Unfortunately, family wasn’t in tow so didn’t get to listen. They liked the photo of the Steinway, though. Will probably head back as a group later this week, so they may get to hear it later.

Sounds great.  I think I posted that I bought a new lock pick kit.  Haven't spent more than a few minutes with it so far, but I need to dive in.

I used to have pick tools and was proficient enough to open most simple locks.  I bailed out some friends and neighbors, and my own stuff, back in the days when I had the 4-plex.

My Dad gifted us some lock picking gear a year or so ago. It came with different types of clear locks. I'm not sure if they even made there way outside of the box after gifting it to us. A few months ago my Dad said, "If you're not going to use them at least let me borrow them to see if I can figure them out." When we first received the gift my dad was able to unlock one of the locks is under a minute. He also loves watching the Lockpick Lawyer on YouTube. That guy is amazing what he can unlock.

I should have sat down and gave it a chance. It just sat boxed up. I could see how it could come in handy.

How often does someone you know lose a key or get locked out of something?  I'd say couple/few times a year for me.  It's not cheap or fast to call a locksmith when you can often just pick the lock.

    Minor league hockey

We just built a new arena for our AHL team. They are supposed to open the building for hockey the first week of April. Pretty excited to go watch a game there.
Kids had a blast, forgot how much action there is in hockey which really keeps the kids attention. The company my wife’s sister and B-I-L work for owns the team and snagged free tickets. Staying at a hotel north of Naples, per @saluki2007 I’ve been paying attention to vehicles down here. They have not disappointed, BMW i8 roadster, Bentleys, corvettes are common, and stuff I don’t know what it is other than expensive.
I think they play down the road from you in Des Moines if you guys enjoy it. Fairly reasonably priced compared to the NHL venues. My kids go fairly regularly.

I went to a local farm to pick up my monthly meat subscription bundle and witnessed the birth and first steps of a lamb.  In September I may be eating some of that lamb.

I once crawled through the dog door. Really if you go around a house you will usually find at least one window that is unlocked.

Love the Lock Picking Lawyer vids also.
I first got interested in the lock picking thing years ago when it turned out that those "unpickable" Kryptonite locks could be opened with the plastic barrel of a Bic pen.

That is often true.  Except our house.  We are fastidious about locking it up and security.   So far it's paid off.

We utilize the Thee G's of security.  Gates, Dogs, Guns.  We used to also utilize remoteness and hiddeness, but the city is encroaching all around so we may be adding cameras.

Long back story, stretching to early Jan., regarding 5G performance while we are at home.  Latest "solution" was to send us a personal "CellSpot".  We said sure, we'll try that, not being clear on just what it was.
Well, it arrived today.  4G box and requires an uplink to our ISP service.  Just kind of dumbfounded right now!

He should really just build a wall.  A beautiful wall that keeps all of the criminals out.  Make the neighbors pay for it.

  • Messing with my pool lights.  Could really disorient someone swimming.

We have similar lights in our pool and hot tub.  I loved them until they went out and need to be replaced.  $3500 later.

Got to be honest.  Now that I think about it, while your pool is nice, I’m kind of disappointed you didn’t install a moat around your house.  And then put in sharks with friggin laser beams.
