Getting ready to make molasses sugar cookies for a Christmas cookie party. I remember a while back this recipe was mentioned in a couple of threads. I don't know where it originated, but my grandmother used to make these, and I have my mother's hand written recipe card from sometime in the 1940's. I have been making them for decades. Yum!

Yes! I sent these to my wife last year and they are by far my favorite now. Thanks for the reminder.

Waiting to for my boy to get out of surgery. Nothing serious. Kid has cost me a bit though. Merry Christmas.
I know my kid brochure conveniently left out the costs.

    Hope everything goes well.

I'm pretty sure my parents grew tired of taking me to the hospital when I was a kid for various trauma.  I've had more stitches in my than a quilt .

Bathroom sink plumbing update:  when taking the compression nut off the npt pipe in the bathroom wall, the nipple into an elbow broke inside the elbow.  To replace the elbow I need to open up the wall.  on the bathroom side it's 1.5" of mud bed, so it will be easier to get to it from the other side in the office/spare bedroom.  This is 100 year old pipe and it was about 95% restricted with the drain pipe version of cholesterol.

The other side of the wall is lath, wire and plaster. I'll have to cut through that with a diamond blade.  Good timing as I just got the perfect tool to do that yesterday.

We’ll see. Actually kinda embarrassing for a 18 year old boy. Basically, The kid is hairier than Sasquatch that has caused issues with his back door plumbing. Doctor had to go in a fix some things. He is out of commission for a few weeks and then will be back up and running. Doctor told him he was going to have to shave or wax when he heals up. Not sure if any of you have had coffee come out of your nose, but it doesn’t feel good.

Yikes.  This reminds me of some condition I read about on here some time ago.  Some kind of cyst that people can get back there.  I googled it because I had never seen the term.  That was a mistake.

Can you get to the crawl space and get the riser loose down there? I have a feeling you will need to just run a new supply line.

  • purely my imagination working here but tape a piece of pex to the offending pipe and pull it though the floor bringing the pex with it.

I think that is what it is. He started to complain about it hurting almost a year ago. We took him to one doctor who told us it was nothing. It started hurting more about 2 months ago so we took him to different doctor, got it diagnosed and corrected. Hopefully it’s done now.
