Putting food on my family's table.  Actually started spitting snow when were assembling the curb and cutting in the roof penetration. Now welding in some extra crossmembers for load support.

Alright @blasting! You're set for when the next blizzard comes through your area!  =) You'll be able to eat well until that 1/4" of snow melts.

Just came in from the first round of clearing snow from my 385' driveway.  It was tough.
glad I moved my egg to right in front of the garage door to the deck last night. It would be a bear to get to now if not.

Something tells me the ROI on that time investment is going to be pretty high.

Decided to brave the elements and throw some ribs on the egg.  Roughing by not sweeping the drifted snow out of the seams in the patio.

@theyolksonyou ... I love it that you had snowfall yesterday and we didn't.  Usually we catch a part of every storm going cross country.

Just finished up a marathon garbage disposal swap session.

What should have been a 20 minute job took the better part of 4 hours.  Disposal died this morning.  Internal gearing on the grinder decided to lunch itself.

Went to Costco and got the only model they have.  A pretty hefty 1.25 hp model.  It was cheaper than the contractor grade drop in replacement from Lowes.

Well, first thing, this one had a plug instead of hardwired.  So I had to install an outlet.  No big deal, but off to the store to get an outlet and a box.

Then the person who installed the first unit decided to use clear caulk to install the flange on the old unit.  So after 45 minutes of hammer, screw driver and propane torch finally freed the flange.  Seriously guys, please use plumbers putty when installing flanges instead of caulk.  That stuff is miserable to free drain flanges from.

Then the disposal didn't fit.  The main drain line coming out of the wall was to close.  So after swearing a bit, I looked closer at the disposal.  The huge nice looking body, was just a plastic cover to look bulky and fancy.  I figured out how to remove it.  It slimmed up the profile significantly and now looks like my contractor model only covered in foam, but it fit.

Went to install it again and now all the lines underneath needed to be redone because the height of the outlet was different.  Oh well, like most easy quick jobs.  It was not quick.

Now we have a working disposal again.  Now, just need to occasionally check for leaks.

@Ozzie_Isaac - Too funny, an under-sink plumbing project was what got me to finally create a Facebook account so I could vent.

@Ozzie_Isaac when we had our drain line redone during the never ending remodel, the wife neglected to tell the contractor we had a disposal. Drain line too close. It's in, but damn, it's tight. May need to look at removing the plastic cover for some relief.

@DoubleEgger - Beautiful all the way around, and nice smoke ring. I know you can't taste the smoke ring, but that is just pretty right there.

Wow.  Almost word-for-word, I went through exactly the same thing about three months ago.  Only difference is I'm pretty sure I went to Home Depot.   :o
