    Gross.

We have a Samsung front load. I agree, they're terrible. I've already had to replace the main board in ours and it's not even 3 years old.

    Never again.

We had a kenmore elite front loader that we beat the snot out of for 17 years.  A few repairs here and there, nothing major.  Worked great for us, but when we replaced, we went back to top loader.  Very happy, no damp funk.

I keep a rag on top of the washing machine and wipe out that seal after each use. We also leave the door open when not in use until it completes dries out. Fortunately ours is still like new.

Celebrating pure luck...Just weighted out a Creekstone Farms prime brisket grabbed on sale late in the fall and it weighed out at 18.9 lbs.  (The weights are not labeled and they advertise the sale weights can be anywhere from 11-15 lbs.)  Been wet aging for around 4 weeks and headed to the brisket god altar this weekend.

How do you know what you need before you are at the store wandering around?😁
Agree. We just grab and go. Obviously overspending every damn time.

I have a couple of bottles. A little goes a long way. I think @JohnInCarolina has done some cooks with it.

Beats me. It was a decade long fight to get my mom to use a walker. I would drive her to Walmart and park in a handicap place. Then I would go get her a cart that she would use for a walker. You should have seen the nasty looks that I got for “making” my aged arthritic mother push the grocery cart. That reminds me , time to go put the turkey breast on the Egg for her and to make sure all of the shopping that I did for her is in the car, coffee filters and a jacket for dad this time.

Sorry about your dad @fishlessman .  I’ve been through this for the past 8+ years with my dad and it has always been a challenge to get him to realize he’s not 50 any longer.  He accepted the cane when we presented him with a walker.  He accepted the walker when we presented him with a wheelchair.  Always a step behind.  At least your dad carries it, that’s a start.

What did end up working well with the cane for us was when I was able to find one that was wrapped with SF Giants logos (he lives out there).  It became a conversation starter, people would comment on it at the store or whatever and he loved that. Almost a point of pride for him.  He began to see it as an accessory for him instead of a reminder of his physical limitations.  We also bought a couple of canes - kept one in the car so when he forgot his (purposely or not) we pulled the ugly cane out for him to use.

You might consider buying a used walker off craigslist or something and tell him it’s just in case he continues to fall  ;)

@fishlessman us too for the walker. FIL falls but just will not use it. Constant reminders do little to help.
