Just got to Nashville, hotel is 2 blox from the Ryman. Going to see Jonny Lang and JJGrey & Mo Fro.
Grew up listening to Mr. Lang. Formidable voice (not to mention guitar talents) from a young age.
Check out my post on "what are you listening to now".

Long story, but, JJ Grey and MoFro were spectacular. 15 minutes into Jonny Lang there were only about 750 left.

    Pizza!

I churched up a Jack's pizza with extra cheese, pepperoncini peppers, ham, italian seasoning, smoked jalapeno powder, and some olive oil drizzle. It was a pepperoni Jack's pizza

Have you got space for a larger than life XXL political leader who is fond of attention and is just a tiny bit prone to clumsy statements?
We've apparently got space for one of those, but it's full.

was surprised to learn, just tonight, that Boris went to Oxford!!

And what is it with bad leaders with worse haircuts??

    Oops, wrong thread.
Oxford is highly selective, but the hard bit is getting through the process to get an offer rather than getting the grades. Private schools have always had the edge, they specifically train for and target the Oxford / Cambridge entry process because they know how it works and have the resources to do it. You won't be surprised to learn that Boris went to school at Eton. Apparently, being rich makes you cleverer.

Imaging the future of Britain after Boris surged to power this morning.  I say surged, 92,000 people (form a population of 60 million) preferred him to another fella.  Only 46,000 liked the other lad.

Since BoJo was born in the US, is it too late to ask if you might like him back, at all?   Have you got space for a larger than life political leader who is fond of attention and is just a tiny bit prone to clumsy statements?

Happy to sweeten the deal with a few minor Royals and tickets to the 1st Ashes Test at Edgbaston. (England currently marginal favourites, just FYI)
we may need him back in 2024 to go against aoc as the carnival continues
If you mean just before half past eight tonight, yes!  I suspect you mean in 4 1/2 years time though.

There's a reasonable chance he won't be in post by Christmas this year.  The way things are going @Eoin and I will hold office sometime in 2021 as a form of conscription comes in to effect for us to take turns leading the country, briefly.
Other girls may try to take me away

Oh it’s definitely political, no question.  Unless you’ve been dead for the last two years.

So we’re supposed to keep politics out of this thread unless you do it. Got it. I have been quite alive the last 2 years but I thrive in salty environments

I think that rule made sense before there was a moratorium on political threads.  Now?  Much less so.  I don’t expect there to be any real danger of this thread going off the rails today over this, so I wouldn’t worry too much.   In any case, it’s a free country brother.

Funny.  There's a new movie coming out on him with Tom Hanks.  You should check it out.  Maybe it will help you calm down a little bit.

Personally, I'd prefer that politics stay out of this thread, lest it get torpedoed.

That said, Mueller is, in fact, testifying today.  And without commentary like "He's gonna getcha'" or "witch hunt!", the post feels more topical than partisan.  If we're so hung up on politics that the mere mention of current events is a problem, that feels a little weird. Just my $0.02.

We have had an unwritten rule on no politics in this thread for awhile, but there have been occasional diversions.  It's never really gotten out of hand, and I really don't think there's much danger of that when it just comes to comments about what's going on in the country.  The very nature of this thread, where people talk about all kinds of things at once, essentially makes it very difficult for things to go too far off the rails.  That is my $0.01, worth roughly half as much as yours. ;)

OK.  To each his own then.  I’ll continue to reference things going on in the world in here, and everyone else can continue to not “take the bait”.  If that gets me alone tossed then so be it.
