Bit the bullet and joined Costco today.

    RIP in Erik.

First purchase was a 17.8 lb prime brisket.  They only had a couple 10 lbers and several smaller in the cooler, but had the 17lber in the back.

This one will sit in the fridge until next week.  Serving it for during an Army win vs. Air Force next Sat.

After @tarheelmatt 's steak motivational thread I had to cook one.  Life gets in the way sometimes, so after being audibled out last night I decided to have a very late luncheon banquet.  Mind you, pedestrian pics to follow but it got the job done.
Reverse sear to 120*F (2lb Costco prime ribeye)- then into the caveman pit:
About 60 secs /side then off to the altar.
Worked for me.  Thanks for lookin'.  Had a nice mahogany finish-trust me  =).

  • Cold and rainy ALL day. Decided to do some white chicken chili on the stove. Used a rotisserie chicken from Costco, it was well worth the $4.99 I spent on it.

@nolaegghead Totally agree with the above! Our local Harris Teeter has rotisserie chickens for $4.99 on Sundays but they are about half the size. I read somewhere recently Costco is going to start an operation to raise their own chickens. Evidently they take a loss on them now. They’re a great time saver either way!

    Pies.

After 3 weeks of tinkering with dough and stuff. I won't admit to how many I've eaten in that time.

Mozz, anchovies, garlic, onions. Pizza Americana dough from Reinhart’s American Pie.

Similar, but sans anchovies. Pepperoni instead. 50% tipo 00.

Any pizza (or anything else) with anchovies wins the day.  Great looking pies right there.  I would inhale those.  Congrats!
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Thanks. Sis doesn’t dig anchovies like we do, so she got the one with pepperoni. Tasted pretty good with the onion marmalade on it.

@NC_Egghead  I really don't know a heck of a lot about it.  I have been playing in my district for a month or two and won 2 bottles of fine whisky which @JohnInCarolina is going to enjoy one.   As I understand it the higher the sales district the more rare sprits they are alotted.  So while watching baseball I figured with the Pappy lottery just around the corner I'd sign up for anything with in a hour or so driving time. Now of course you still have to pay for the hooch.

  • @bucky925, thanks for the info. I’ll be hitting my local ABC store tomorrow. If they don’t have it, they’re good about locating the nearest store that does.

That being said I still can't get into the Moresville ABC lottery .   Where the NASCAR, NFL, and Bball pro's are.
