Tried my hand at German pancakes. There are a few different styles, I grew up with this one, but have never made them myself. Similar to a crepe, but thicker. Top with fruit, sugar, fruit sauces. I like mine with maple syrup and bacon.

Trader Joe’s spatchcock chickens for lunches this week. Nothing special, wife just picked them up while there and asked me to cook them. I do t have a way to raise my grill so just started with a low lump pile and cooking direct at 250-275.

First, take a few scraps of 2x6 or wider lumber and a shovel with you. The sand is really soft and those boards will come in handy if your truck starts spinning.
Second, I highly recommend this place. The Cowboy Burger is great.

Thanks everyone who commented etc. It sure was fantastic day. For the most part it was a nice and quiet day with just @HuskerMaMa and myself. The meal was simple and it was devoured.

Just saved this guy trying to cross the street. Saw him (or her) as the car in front of me swerved to avoid the Jaywalker. So I put my flashers on and breaked hard. Quickly had a few cars blowing their horns.
Screw them. I felt good saving the little guy! And yes, I took the time to snap a pic....
