Great Superbowl. Better than last year. For the Seahawk fans who remember Steve Largent I sympathize. I hate both teams but loan Richard Sherman.

Russell Wilson seems like a great guy.

Sherman does a great job getting himself endorsements when most corners don't. He's good too, very good. I honestly don't know if deep down he's more that bombastic guy or the guy that shook hands with Brady. One of those two is just there to feed his media rep.

I can't stand him, but he is a really good corner and really good at keeping himself in camera. You have to give him that much.
    Love you bro!
  • Sherman is good and he's very smart. I'm 90% sure it's mostly an act. Dude raised himself up out of a bad situation and went to Stanford. Last I checked, they don't let dummies in Stanford even to play ball. The band might be a bunch of freaks, but they're smart freaks. About the dumbest thing there is the mascot.
  • Great call to end the game.  =))

I don't doubt that he's smart. ...if you have to act, why act like a douche? Peyton Manning gets tons of endorsements. ..acts like a gentleman. Hard to believe football season is over.

Haha....I would cut myself if I had to act like Peyton Manning! That dude is the epitome of boring. Also, you're not Sherm by any means, but you're no gentleman either! That is of course when you're not serving panty droppers at fests! :P

I didn't have a dog in the hunt. However I thought it was one of the better Super Bowls of late. The game was back and forth until the bitter end. It was actually exciting and enjoyable to watch unlike some of the others. Last year I quit watching about 10 minutes into the game because it was basically already over. It takes the fun out of it for me if its a total blow out like last year. That said, both teams played great and represented their division well I thought. Love them or hate them, the Patriots stepped up and beat what I thought was actually a better team than them. Congradulations to New England for keeping it together and staying focused through all the media flack and pulling off the win.

He might be boring but he's a class act. There are lots that are. Russell Wilson seems like it. Brady doesn't talk crap. I've never liked ashhole players. Pacman, Moss, Sherman, Owens...

  • But how many class act corners get the attention/endorsements?
  • Great game, fun to watch. I love Sherman, I think it's a great variation of the old-time wrestling heel. He's very smart and has a lot of good points if you get past some of the trash talk.

Sherman's gotta do Sherman. I don't have to like him.

  • I like both teams. Wilson and Brady seem like good guys. Brady's a Michigan Man so I like him more for that. Both teams played well until the wheels fell off the Seattle bus at the 19:30 mark in the 4th quarter. Great game! Usually I have to use the SB squares I bought to keep my interest.

Deion "Primetime" Sanders was a corner who got quite a few endorsements without running his mouth......   :-\"

Richard Sherman is the best in the NFL because he actually makes it exciting and is always a great soundbite. Russell Wilson is milquetoast and boring as well, just like most "faces" of the league. It's just more corporate and disengaged from what it used to be.

Sherman mugging for the camera after Baldwin caught his touchdown pass was great. He mouthed "24, 24"(Revis' number, who he has most often been compared to) then pointed to the scoreboard and mouthed"touchdown". That was epic trash-talking. We need more of him, Gronkowski, Lynch and other players like them to make the league more exciting. It's awesome when players give people a reason to hate them(great play and a great mouth) rather than beating their SO or killing someone when drinking and driving.

Brady doesn't talk crap?? LOL. he's the dirtiest mouth in the league... just don't see it like the others. Sherman has to take the spotlight where the QBs are given the attention and endorsements because of the position. I don't think there is a better CB in the league and definitely not a better trash talker that can back up his every word...

  • Such a strange game.  The Patriots basically stole it at the end.  By the same token, they were in position to do so because of what was really a fantastic fourth quarter.

It was a weird game for Brady.  That first pick he threw - such a bad decision.  The second one wasn't quite as bad but it was close.  He really shouldn't have made either throw.  But man did he turn it on in the fourth quarter.

Still, when they scored with just over two minutes left - I felt like they'd left too much time on the clock.  I'd just seen Seattle run a quick offense too many times - heck they scored a TD in less time at the end of the first half.  Then when Kearse made that circus catch - I thought oh well, it just wasn't meant to be.  But that's the thing about luck - it never gives; it only lends.

The ending really was improbable.  That will, in all likelihood, never happen again in a SuperBowl. Malcolm Butler will never have to pay for beer again in Boston.

To me he should've been the mvp. Helluva play. Why pass it? Alabama did the same thing against osu.

If it wasn't for Kearse's impossible catch, we wouldn't be talking about the stupid play call at 20 seconds.

Pete sucked when he coached the Pats. Maybe it's when he's AROUND the Pats. :)

Pete Carroll should be the MVP. That play call gave it to the Pats.

  • No question Butler's pick catch was significant being a game winner but it is hard to drop it when the ball is thrown almost right at you. I do admire how he had the presence of mind to get out of the end zone, that was anything but a rookie move.

I thought Julian Edelman was the MVP, what a game, didn't notice a single mistake. He was catching passes with his head down in open field where you know you are going to get hammered. Kearse's catch was the most improbable of miracle catches ever - sometimes it just bounces the right way.

Many like Wilson, I think he has an ego as big as all get out, but then most QB's are the same.

Sherman, IMO, is brilliant, kinda Ali brilliant, if it wasn't for his media persona he wouldn't get much attention, unfortunately you often have to be obnoxious to get attention.... and he grew up in Compton.

My only question is, Who the hell is Chris Matthews???  He has NO stats.  He never touched a football in the NFL and gets 4 receptions for 109 yards and a TD in the superbowl including game changing plays.

I think this was mostly a result of the height mismatch.  The Patriots are really good at taking away the opposing team's main strengths.  Matthews was targeted because everyone else was tightly covered, essentially.
