mshump said:Finally got my new cooking spot done for the year. I got the patio poured ,new french doors put in and my egg and gasser moved out back. I still need to side the wall inside and out before winter sets in, then I have the winter to plan and decide what I want to do next. I am guessing the 3 season room is around 20 years old. When we went to install the french doors the wall and sill was rotted badly. Had to pretty much re-frame from the sill up. It turned out to be quite a bit bigger project then what I had planned, but it is coming together nicely. Even threw some hot dogs on the egg for dinner last night !!Danville, Il

I worked around the clock Friday and Saturday morning to build this. That left me with an hour to pick up my XL before the dealer closed!

Does the egg sit on the base or is it supported by the ring only? Be mindful of expansion as the old mini nest held the egg with a ring about 1/3 up the base and this could cause a clean break at the point of contact.

Here's mine. But it might be redone once max comes home.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Until I can get a fence out back I am forced to egg out front.

My egging space has been a long time coming.. Finally was able to get it done this year, although it wasn't without complications due to a contractor (and supposed friend) bailing on me halfway through it.
We bought the house 8 years ago. It had a small covered porch where I could operate in bad weather, but we immediately added a concrete patio to the back. However, the concrete was improperly sloped and rain would stand on it. We also didn't use the patio mostly due to little shade and, being in the south, that just means you're baking while your food is too.
So my solution this summer was to cover the patio by enlisting an acquaintance I've known for a long time. The final results are great IMO, but myself and other friends and family ended up doing a large majority of the trim work over the course of 4 weekends. Thankfully the framers had done a good enough job getting it to where I could finish it. I have to say it's nice sitting under it knowing I did A LOT of the work.

Not new, but I never posted. Here's my yard and egg spot. One from above and one from below. Different days - heavy rain in the above pic. I really want to get that deck covered with something solid for a little sun and rain protection, maybe add a fan.

@piney Where did you get that table?? I have seen a few like it, but was not sure if they would be able to handle the weight of an egg, and obviously yours must be pretty sturdy to hold 2 eggs. Great setup by the way!XL, Medium BGE & Blackstone I XAR-Woo2 & Rig-BO I Flameboss 500St. Louis, MO
