I'm not one for bashing companies unless they really deserve it. I had a Char-Griller and know how they can be. Pay now or pay later!!! This made me laugh!!!
Who uses "grilling Goggles"? I saw these at world market with my wife and could not believe it. People will buy anything. You will lose your man card with these!!!

I was lighting lump last week when, in a shower of sparks, one ember landed on my face. I didn't think much of it (awww, it'll burn out) until a few seconds later when I realized it was still burning. I grabbed it with my fingers, and it burned as I plucked it off my searing skin (cheek). Long story short, looked pretty bad the next day, and took a few days before the face vag cleared up. I'd hate to think about the damage had it been in my eye. Fortunately I'm always wearing my BCDs.

I've seen those same goggles marketed as onion goggles. They seal out the fumes when cutting onions. I thought it was dumb, but I think about them every time I chop large amounts of onions.Mark Annville, PA

I've got two friends with Akorns and they love them. I cooked on one and it was excellent. The oldest one is about 2.5 years old and is still in good shape. On the other hand another friend bought one and found it had a dent in it. Took it back to store and they had 2 left and both were dented. So he ponied up for a L BGE and is very happy.

I had an Akorn, did three low and slow cooks but there were so many air leaks it would not stay at low temps. Got frustrated, returned to Home Depot and bought an egg.Large BGE - Jupiter, FL
