Sam Houston, sounds like a Texas favorite. I’ll look it up!pgprescott said:One of my personal favorites. It has a hint of oak from the long aging but that’s my jam. I love it. Cheers!

Auction lot for my local bourbon group’s charity event. Live Auction at a local watering hole. Raising money for local veterans. $50 to get into the door. Numerous free pours and door prizes. Hoping to raise good money with what y’all see. Not pictured are a 1.75 of Eagle Rare store pick and a 1.75 of Weller 12. -

Test run for a new set of oak tumblers that I received as an award at work. Very nice set!____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli -

I loved that. That was when I first learned of what a “gold rush” cocktail was made from. That also gave me the inspiration for Frank’s Speakeasy, @lousubcapCTMike said:

I’m gonna have to buy a shaker and try making a Gold Rush. I buy honey from a local beek at work so just need a fresh lemon.JohnInCarolina said:

They’re good. A bit sweeter than a standard whiskey sour. And the honey enhances the color as well. I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t really like them.CTMike said:

You just have to make the honey syrup, grab a lemon, your favorite bourbon for cocktails, and you’re good to go!"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Got around to making a Gold Rush using one of my least favorite bourbons in case I didn’t like it. Also used local honey from a beek friend at work. Definitely a fan, will make this again.

If you want to try a dangerous drink, get yourself some Bison Grass Vodka and make yourself a Tatanka. I think it is @TheBuffalo’s favorite drink:

Use unfiltered apple juice - it’s amazing and tastes like liquid apple pie - very dangerous.

@CTMike - obviously our taste profiles are different as they should be. For a near daily pour I am a BT fan. Sorry to read that it does not fit the bill. But I don't mix the brown water other than with water or ice. You will get there-It comes with age-lots of it.

Submarines once-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
@lousubcap,
I’m not sure what it is about BT but it just doesn’t tickle my taste buds.- Submarines twice . . . .MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

I’ve seen anywhere from 1:3 honey:water to 3:1 honey:waterJohnInCarolina said:

I already did 3:1, it is waiting to cool down, I’ll dilute it if needed____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli -
Pretty good! Not as sweet as expected.
2 oz Woodford DO
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz 3:1 honey syrup
