My mistake. I liked Basil when I started my whiskey journey but just find myself enjoying other brands now.
It’s ok, it’s an easy drinker. I for one expected the 10 yo version to have some more complexity and punch but you might as well buy the regular stuff and save some $. Not bad but not commensurate with its price. 🥃
  • I did not enjoy the Basil toasted. Especially at $55/bottle

Never had the green. Mostly black and a few swigs of the blue. I like the JW profile and price point of the black. Imo it’s a great blended daily drinker if that’s your jam.

Please let us know what your thoughts are on the green. I assume it’s a pretty pricey bottle?

I would be interested in hearing about the green as well. I plan on breaking open a bottle of the blue shortly.

I think that the green is my fav besides the blue. I’ve had the black and like it also but the green seems to be smoother. I would really like to have the black and green side by side.

I’m in Canada and I believe that it was $90 for this bottle.

That Sweetens Cove is comparable to Dickel 13 BIB. Nice pour for sure but not worth the cash you’re paying Peyton for it

My buddies spent some time last month down in Nola’s area at manning a bar/restaurant and shot the chit with Archie.

Heck, it could be the exact same juice. Most of these boutique labels buy either MGP in your neck of the woods or Dickel. There is plenty of Knob creek out there too.

Thanks for the heads up. 🥃

Nice, I enjoy Noah’s Mill. Is that order lowest to highest proof?

You’re darn close.   I staged them from enjoyment/proof.   Saving Noah for the end being 114p.   Plus I have the most in that bottle that needs killing.

@TechsasJim - that is rolling in hot for kicking 2021 to the rear-view mirror.
Once you achieve the kills, surface and enjoy the end of this f'ing year.

@lousubcap yes Sir.   Good riddance to this year.   These 3 should take me out with a bang, hoping the neighbors curtail their bang this year 🧨

@pgprescott - Thanks, as that EH Taylor is about as good as it gets for me.
Killing one and an Eagle Rare as my NYE banquet.
Besides the cleanup is easy, so there's that!
    Happy New Year-

Dislike. Sorry man. But, good news about drinking alone is you can reach for the stars and nobody will be the wiser. #bourbonkillscovid (it’s science, look it up)

You’ve got that right!   I’ve said that since the beginning of all this nonsense.    My wife is inside suffering from something (Covid, flu or cedar fever).   Nothing wants…or can…live in this bourbon-ladened body of mine.

Be what it be. Can’t change it. Thankful wife’s symptoms are mild. Drinking one for Harbaugh and company. SEC dominating again and again

Oh good luck with that.   I hate to be negative but I can’t stand that overpriced stuff.   The distillery is on the way to my buddy’s ranch we have stopped in a couple times.

Just can’t get into it but if you like that’s all that matters.

    Enjoy the night!!
