I don't drink anything stronger than port (and its been years since I've done that) but I know a few here have sung the praises of "Pappy Van Winkle". According to this article, utard got 181 bottles, and folks were camped out in front of the state-run (read, "church/cult-run") liquor stores to score a bottle:

While I like the lottery idea (fair chance for everyone), I also support "free-market" (raise the damn price until the last bottle is sold, right before next year's release). Neither principle happened here; it was more persistence and luck.
