Hey Cigar Experts - Need some advice

A buddy of mine is coming into town tomorrow for a week and he's tasked with supplying the sticks for a bachelor's party. He thought he'd buy them while he's down here thinking NOLA is a port city closer to the source than his home town of Minneapolis. I'm not sure that's the case since we have modern transportation, but it'll give him a quest while in town.
So my question is: any recommendations for good sticks to buy? He's gotta buy a lot of them and he's just a regular guy, not super rich, so good value would be appreciated. And maybe something that they don't sell up there would be cool because that's where the party is.
I hope @hapster and @henapple will have some good advice (does PBR make cigars?)....

Diesel shorty. My personal favorite. Although you can't go wrong with a rocky Patel Connecticut. It's a little more mild and not badly pricedLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos

Any Fuente is a great choice along with Carlos Torano, kistoff is somewhat new also a great stick...if your not avid cigar smokers you may want milder sticks. Macanudo, Hoya De Montaray, baccarat are good selections. Just my 2 centsFranco Ceramic Grillworks www.ceramicgrillworks.com

Get a box of Casa Magna Colorados. The Toritos are a good size for general use at 4-3/4 x 60.
Highly rated and reasonable at 5 to 6 per stick. You should be able to find boxes of 27 for around $140. Nice and mild, great flavor, cigar of the year in 2008. Not outrageously price and way better than cheaper dog rockets.
If it was me; I go this way...MSV Chill Spot

Nub Habano or Connecticut are good at around $6 per stick... Most shops will mix a box and still get a discount.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Stories were always my favorite, and you can often find them for a reasonable price. If you have some guys that don't normally like cigars maybe grab a couple Kahlua cigars from Drew Estates. They're great to chew and a decent easy smoke on top of that. Should be very affordable. Finally back in the Badger State!

Swisher Sweets. Goes perfect with Henapple's PBR.

NUB are great, IMO the Casa Magna Colorados are a touch milder than the NUBs - both good, I'd follow Hap's lead on this one.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Thanks all. I forwarded the url to this thread to my buddy, and warned him the forum is filled with lovable miscreants, but with lots of life experience. He's not a smoker so this info should help him out tremendously. Standing on the shoulders of giants (miscreants), etc. Thanks again.

Have him check out cigarplace.com or cigar biz.com... Might be the same site. Great prices, and fantastic customer service. Always have great experiences buying my sticks from them.MSV Chill Spot

@hapster - awwwwww shucks, now I'm welling up.....
I've only gotten arrested once during mardi gras (for getting thrown out of a bar drunk at 4 AM) ...but I hold the title proudly.

Padron aniversary series, 1964 and I agree with Grege345, Rocky Patel Connecticut. Any Rocky is good!

Rocky Patel Edge, pretty reasonably priced. That's my go to cigar for parties off my friends.
Half of them wouldn't appreciate a Funte or a Padron.
Just a thought."Hold my beer and watch this S##T!"

Oliva G or O Serie... Nice smoke. Get a mix of strengths.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

You could go with an Arturo Fuente Curly Head.
It's a tasty treat but won't kill the budget. Pretty mild, most know the name. The link I provided has them at about $2.60 per cigar.

My personal favorite is the Flor De Las Antillas by My Fathers Cigar. It's medium for beginners or people who for dont like full cigars, it burns cool and even and it's a great cigar. You can usually find them for less than $7 a stick and you can get them cheaper than that online. I got a box from sjcigars.com out of Philly and they were a pleasure to deal with. Even through in a small sample pack.
They were rated #1 in 2012 by cigar aficionado and I can see why after the first 4 of my box. And after a month in the 'dor, they only get better.------------------------------------------------------------------------LBGE 2013 - MiniMax 2015 - Seemingly every accessory the fine folks at CGS sell - Fightin' Texas Aggie till I die - Gig 'Em - Located in the bright lights of Dallas -
I second the Flor De Las Antillas. This is a great stick.

I'm a multifaceted troll. Most people don't want to find out what that means, but let's just say I can dish it out where it hurts.
