This may be better as music when you ruin a cook, but I've always loved Layne Staley's vox with Alice in Chains...

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -
Led Zeppelin, foo fighters, Jackson United, The Sea and Cake (Nassau) and whatever else strikes me. I listen to mostly heavy stuff but outside with a beverage begs for straight up rock. Oh! And Hepcat if it's that kind of day. I'm most relaxed when I'm outside cooking. One of my absolute favorite things to do. My metal side usually does make its way in while I'm chilling out, BBQing.Petaluma, CA

Also been enjoying a band that's been around awhile, Umphrey's McGee. Kind of a cross between a jam band and prog (think Dixie Dregs).___________

Radio station 107.3 JACK FM Jacksonville, FL. They play a real good variety of 60s-current music. It's good stuff. I like a huge variety of genres and time eras. I really like this station. Nice pick TigerTony on Great Southern. The Allman Brothers have gone to **** since Dickey Betts left. I saw them once after the split and it sucked BIG TIME! But I still love the old Allman Brothers music.

Nice! Regret not going to one of their shows. One of the bands that helped me through mid teens into early adulthood.
I have their Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium album. It was their last show 9/12 and 9/13 of 2000. A bad a$$ album you could press play and listen to in entirety.

I saw them in DC at HFStival and Baltimore for the Battle of Los Angeles tour. Ahhhh, high school. The festival show was amazing. They blew Stone Temple Pilots away. Damn, I miss WHFS.

Cindy's Crying by Barbara Raney and Deep Water Reunion If you listened to Clyde Clifford's Beaker Street on The Mighty 1090 KAAY in the late sixties, you will remember this one.
