So me and some buddies are going on a gambling junket in Biloxi in April. It's pretty cool, for 40$ you and a buddy fly out and stay 3 free nights at the Beau Rivage plus the flight back. You can't beat that, especially if you love the tables. So I asked the wife 3 months ago if I could go. Its a bunch of firemen, what could happen? Anyway she said yes.
     Fast forward to today, and I was upset that she worked on Easter day! I called her out on it and she said "well you're going to Biloxi on our anniversary". My jaw dropped to the floor. That never even crossed my mind, I had totally forgot. Haha, I messed up boys.
    Nice dinner? Trips booked so Im going!

    That is a mis-fire that cannot be resolved after the fact-you may have had a chance had you remembered your SWMBO sentencing date up front but not now.  You should be grateful you have the hall-pass to go.  I would take one life off of the belt.
    Better to be lucky than good any day comes to mind...

    In the era of smartphones there is no excuse to ever forget any important date...program your anniversary in to the calendar, have it repeat every year FOREVER and set the reminder for 2 weeks out and then for one week out...

    Good luck man, sounds like you re gonna need it. =)

    Great idea.   Win big.  Buy a room full of strippers and escorts and she'll be none the wiser.   Only thing better would be to order and pick up a new mini max on the ride home from the airport!   This is your prototypical win/win

    Let's see.  You're a fireman so your sched is probably 3 on, 4 off?  3 days away every week and now 3 days out of town with the guys.

    You're right - what could go wrong?  

    What's 1/2 of everything you own?  That's what your $40 vakay is really gonna cost when you look back on this a couple years from now...


    You punt on the vakay and you will take a little ribbing from the guys for awhile.  You use that time and go someplace with the wife for a couple days and you win points forever with the person that (hopefully) matters most in your world...

    I disagree. The real damage is going on the trip when you know it's your anniversary. Forgetting is one thing, knowingly going is another.

    It won't be the weekend it should because you have already forgotten but if you stay home maybe the rest of your days wont suck nearly as bad.  No way in hell would I go on that trip.

    Just as others have stated you will never live this one down. For the rest of your life it will be brought up! It's $40 I wouldn't risk my marriage for $40. No matter how your relationship is this would still hurt a woman, she might not tell you, but the way she brought it up doesn't sound like she wants you to go.

    The bigger your balls are the better you'll hang! I wouldn't risk it!
