The closing minutes of that Portugal-Croatia match were throttled by technology.  But it was great entertainment.
Spain-Portugal will be a good match but Spain is rounding into form.

Portugal gonna have to play a lot better than they have been. Spain won’t have any problems beating them.

I was at the Portugal Croatia game. Easily the best live football match I've ever seen.  First half was a bit slow, but the second half .... wow, wow, wow.

That Argentina-Cape Verde match was a rallying cry for all the teams that "shouldn't be here" right thru to the extra time whistle.  What a performance by Cape Verde.

It was definitely a match for the ages. The CPV players should be incredibly proud of how they acquitted themselves during this tournament - fantastic.

Right in the engine room of the tournament.
Not a huge surprise that Norway got past Brazil, former glories no match for a decade of consistent investment.
Will be more even against England as both squads are either colleagues or know each other well.

However, this assumes the England/Mexico result receives DC confirmation.  Seems that how it works now.
DJT as VAR, at least it will be quicker?

Between mexico fans' extremely poor sportsmanship (setting off fireworks outside England's hotel all night long) and traitor's sticking his filthy nose where it doesn't belong, my new interest in futbol is pretty much gone now.

Trump shoulda kept his mouth shut, regardless of if he called Infantino or not. What an absolute clown. Belgium didn’t need any fuel for the fire for calling for the player appeal. They’re gonna be gunning for Balo tonight unfortunately. Trying to provoke him.

I’m sure it was another one of those “perfect calls”.

Well, that was a first-class a$$whipping.  The defense couldn't handle the high press from Belgium all night.  Started the second half with promise but then regressed to the game norm which was unable to generate any forward momentum.
    Lost to a better team.
On to Africa and the Iberian Peninsula in 2030.

    Edit to add:
The 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. To celebrate the tournament's 100th anniversary, the opening three "centenary matches" will be played in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The main tournament will take place across several cities in the three primary host nations:
    • Morocco: Host cities include Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakesh, Agadir, Fez, and Tangier.
    • Portugal: Host cities include Lisbon and Porto.
    • Spain: Host cities include Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, and Zaragoza.
Because they are hosting matches, all six of these countries will automatically qualify for the tournament.

Have you really not figured out how narcissists operate yet? It's completely on brand and silly to expect otherwise.

The Trump/Infantino thing is not just a travesty of justice but has distracted from how much stronger the USMNT are now.
The difference between losing 1-0 or 4-1 is academic, and anyway one was a gift and one so late it made no difference.
The big loss will be if the DJT effect detracts from the greater interest in the game now,  and stall the propulsion of the USM & WNT squads.
Norway is about 100 acres and populated by half a dozen Vikings (more or less) - so anything is possible.

I'm thinking that if Belgium can't improve things, I may have rate them as up there with some Brazilian teams of the past at the top of the "did the least with the most talent" scale.
Or maybe they're just getting old...
I'm thinking someone from the Belgian team saw this and posted it in their locker room for motivation.   =)

What a complete display of mediocrity on the part of the US Team. It’s like they were scared of the ball. Two of the goals were gimmes, but man that was brutal to watch. Pulisic had 10+ turnovers in the 50 odd minutes he played. His stat line for the World Cup consists of 1 assist. So much for Captain America

Pulisic was clearly not at full strength.  His record in Serie A and previously on the national team speak to that.  But if we don't have someone better than Pulisic at 80-90% to put out there (and we don't) - then we don't belong in the final 8.

The difference in talent was made VERY clear when Belgium subbed on Doku and Lukaku - and left De Bruyne on the bench.  We don't have ANY 3 players that are as good as those 3 - and they don't even start for Belgium.

Generally complaining to HR isn't a good idea. You might win just a bit temporarily but a lawsuit tight hammer is usually being prepared. Plus whoever you complain about is both informed about it and now has ten times the grudge.

What a comeback from Argentina and complete meltdown by the Egyptian team. 3 goals in 14 minutes to overcome 0-2 to win 3-2!!!!
