    fizzle tornados are specifically excluded....sorry
You have a 100,000,000 deductible for wind damage.  Also liability on your truck so even though your farm smashed a tree on your truck no coverage.

Sheeeew. Probably the most nervous I’ve been yet. Reports of structures damaged and entrapment about 2 miles north of me. I could hear it. The wife and dog were hunkered down

Watching a twister 🌪️ roll into our northern area. Stay safe midwesterners! It’s going to be a rough couple days for us
Yikes!  Cover the eggs and hide the children.
All good. The good news about Indiana tornadoes is that they fizzle about as fast as they spin up. We rarely get long tracking, super cell tornadoes. (Tomorrow may be one of those days unfortunately)
Update on this. It was in fact a rare night. We had a long tracking tornado on the ground for 17 miles. As it passed, I knew it was close to our place based on radar and what I was experiencing outside.

I drive this path every day to and from work. The sun never reaches the ground due to the tree canopy. This is literally 2 minutes north of me. The wife says we’re buying a storm shelter. Sounds like an excuse to rent a mini excavator and bury a shipping container into one of the hillsides. Lol

I agree with your wife. Can you modify it to cure meats when not in use?

Had one pass thru here around 9 years ago about 1/2 mile up the road (no one seriously injured or killed).  The devastation path is definitely distinctive.  Like a lawn mower path thru grass.   First time that close in over 40 years, then another around 2 miles away 18 months ago.

^^^ Ozzie, that’s fantastic!!  I guess I missed most of the story about you not getting them, only saw the sad story about the one that passed.  You can see the Joy in all those eyes, they’re just as happy to be with you!!

Is this for your incoming students @Foghorn?  They won't eat as well again for quite a while.

Yes.  As you know, we've been doing this for over 10 years now.  The first couple of times we did it we hit home runs with the briskets, etc.  Most of the past few years I've done it after working all night the previous night (essentially pulling 2 all-nighters in a row) or generally being exhausted in general.  Based on previous successes I've somewhat complacent and haven't paid enough attention to detail.  On a 1-10 scale, for the past few years the briskets have been 8's or 9's (some 7's) in general - which most people love, but I've recognized that we can do better.

We had a team meeting last night where I told our team that this year we (mostly "I") are not going to be complacent and we're going for 10's across the board.  So far, we're on track, but the day is young.

Briskets went on at 10:30 last night and one of my colleagues had to tend the firebox through a thunderstorm... I got to sleep in until 4:45 before I took over.
