Ahoy hoy there @Foghorn
Good to see you fully invested in the soccer-sphere.
The narrative around FIFA scamming fellow humans to an eye-watering degree at every opportunity for World Cup 26 is a golden act of hubris, possibly unheralded in all of time.
And, no - because Spurs have an innate talent for self-sabotage whilst Utd, in popular opinion, are getting what they deserve for being a fundamentally 'difficult to like' team. Even during their pomp they polarised. Some teams relish being disliked, some are perennially in the friend zone. Utd hold a special place and have a hard earned nickname that I can not share on this medium. Arguably it's not the team, certainly the current team - it's the egregious sycophancy in all facets of the sporting media that sustains to this day for Sir Alex and anyone who wore the red shirt during his tenure.
Oh, turns out I did have an opinion.Other girls may try to take me away

#sorry #notsorryCPFC1905 said:And apologies for my glaring omission; today of course is the day that in future we will call 'the birth of soccer-ball' as the World Cup 26 draw is made, starring long-time money enthusiast and no-time football enthusiast, DJT himself.
Full details here; https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/dec/02/world-cup-2026-draw-which-teams-have-qualified-and-how-does-it-work
And my preferred except of that, here; When does the World Cup draw take place?
The draw will start at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center at 12pm local time on Friday 5 December (5pm GMT/4am Saturday AEST). Although don’t worry if you tune in late: based on previous draws there will be a few speeches about Fifa being on the verge of bringing about world peace via the medium of football, some interpretive dance about Fifa being on the verge of bringing about world peace via the medium of football, some videos with kids kicking a ball about to show that Fifa is on the verge of bringing about world peace via the medium of football, and then, hopefully, Fifa actually bringing about world peace via the medium of football. And if you miss any of that, don’t worry; Fifa will also be awarding a peace prize to the person most likely to bring about world peace in the next few months.
At some point in all of that, they’ll place teams into groups and at long last give this expanded tournament an actual schedule.

Thanks @CPFC1905. However, I don't begrudge athletes/entertainers/whatever the right to charge high ticket prices for their product. If Barbra Streisand or Bruce Springsteen can fill up the Rose Bowl for a bunch of nights at high ticket prices, more power to them. If FIFA can put on a 104 match spectacular and fill them all up and get maximum ticket prices, good for them as well. Some of it makes its way to the athletes who actually put on the show.CPFC1905 said:Ahoy hoy there @Foghorn

Oh, turns out I did have an opinion.
I don't think the problem is FIFA. The problem is ticket intermediaries that are hording the tickets - likely using bots to get them.
Ultimately, I think the market will set the price whether there is an intermediary or not. I'd just rather see more of the money go to the athletes and less go to 3rd party ticket "services".XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

I agree in principle and ultimately how do you value art?
The trickle down effect is limited over here, with very little finding its way to the lower tiers. There's an arms race at the top and those clubs draw in most of the cash. They are disincentivised to share with / help smaller teams.
Fifa have tried to eradicate the bots / scammers by being those, this time. Surge pricing and scammers are the subject or great ire this side of the pond.Other girls may try to take me away

Contemplating the snowblower attachment for the Kubota RTV. @alaskanassasin Any experience?Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

@kl8ton no experience with the K-connect.
We don’t get enough snow here for a blower attachment, but if they made an out front mower I’d be more interested. I don’t about your exact application but I know a lot of snow is moved with skid steers if you don’t already have one.South of Columbus, Ohio. -
You could probably buy a bobcat for the price of k-connect and a snow blower!South of Columbus, Ohio.

Pretty impressed with Traeger, they are mailing me the bil a new controller to my house. No sales receipt, no questions asked, frankly they don’t even know who the original owners are or when they bought it.South of Columbus, Ohio.

Good to know. Touch wood, my 1st Traeger is over eight years old, no issues. How did you determine it was the controller?alaskanassasin said:Pretty impressed with Traeger, they are mailing me the bil a new controller to my house. I did a little research before driving over and the three obvious no heat culprits were, the fan, the auger, or the “hot rod”. Bil had already changed the hot rod. Auger was working, fans were turning, the hot rod was hot enough I couldn’t hold my finger on it however not hot enough to burn pellets. After an excruciating 1hr of “troubleshooting” with Traeger tech support, the tech said it sounded like we need to replace the controller.Canugghead said:

I think it’s safe to say that most of us here have an artsy side to us, considering we cook new things and take photos while cooking said things. So one of the things I’ve always wanted to do, but never got the gumption or motivation — learning to crochet!Been having a rewarding time over the last few months, making blankets for my kids, wife, my mother and now my niece. Getting better as I go.. the first couple were rough. After the kids go to sleep, I tend to crochet for a bit before going to sleep myself. It’s not really the manliness hobby I suppose, but it’s my proverbial love language to those I love. Kinda neat to think that maybe my kids will pass the blankets along one day to their kids and maybe their kids’ kids. Here’s the last complete one I did… so far I’ve made a denim blue, avocado green, violet and this red one. My niece’s rose pink one is in progress.

Building anything is a manly thing to do. I learned to sew and cook partly for survival as a bachelor and partly because my work at the time involved building something that was taking a long time. Crocheted blankets are wonderfully warm.Once I paid someone to crochet me a queen-size blanket. This time of year, it's always on my bed.Keep it up! You're doing a good thing.Somewhere on the Colorado Front Range

Really cool, @Dyal_SC. That’s an enviable skill. There is great satisfaction in challenging oneself and in watching proficiency improve over time. Nice that your family gets to benefit.

@Dyal_SC Beautiful legacy right there, takes a real man.
Growing up I helped in my dad's shoe store after school, operated pedal-powered industrial sewing machine to stitch leather shoe uppers. Turned out to be a useful life skill... e.g. I taught myself how to hem jeans while preserving the original hem; had fun sewing masks during early Covid days; stitched up torn skin on turkey breast
