    rewrote the code to build playlists on my music server so that a track in a playlist no longer appears twice in searches as the same album but now shows once for the album and once for each playlist which contains the track.

    Minor annoyance, but I hated doing a search for an album based on a track and having it show up multiple times, and then pick the wrong one, getting the playlist instead of the album I wanted to hear.

    Finished my first week at my new job.  I didn’t realize just how toxic that place and how miserable it made me.  Couldn’t be happier.
    I also started a new job this week - having to wear pants all week was kind of stressful.

    When I retired I had my first great night of sleep in ten years.  Still had some horrid dreams (as in waking up covered in sweat, and yelling) for a few months, but eventually those faded too.
    Had a few invites to interview for outside jobs from former coworkers, but I never responded.  I'm not super-wealthy, but will never go back to work.  I'm much more happy now.

    I still meet up with a couple of technicians who worked for me weekly at breakfast. But not any of management. I burnt that bridge rather thoroughly a month before my scheduled retirement and for legal reasons won’t get into the details.

    Great news and well done for getting away.

    Despite my many voyages around the sun I got drawn back in to that.  Only when I took on a new project recently did I notice that;
    - my working hours returned to reasonable,
    - my persistent heart burn receded
    - I wasn't waking up thinking about work, having gone to bed thinking about work.

    I like working, I like the company I'm with - but now having stepped away slightly I can see that it was the emotional behaviour of my boss that was driving the anguish.  I kind of knew that, too - and they are one of those who is often correct int heir view but fails to take anyone with them.

    Maybe I'm just a big old softy but I put people first and will take a hit on strict adherence to my ambition, if the group come with me.

    Not sure why I have shared all that on the Egg forum?

    Rest assured,  I'll revert to soccer-ball and defending the condition of the average UK roof now.
