@buzd504 - one piece of advice from a northener living in the south who has seen the locals try and drive in that stuff: stay off the roads if you can."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

JIC offers great advice. If you aren't used to driving on the white stuff, then don't even try it. If you don't crash, the other drivers may crash into you. People crash into power poles which takes out power which only makes things worse. Hunker down and "enjoy" this historic weather event for the area.~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

It’s a good thing that he hasn’t been sheared since September. Still snowing btw.

P.S. Take it slow if you go out and shovel. Heart attack rates grow exponentially from doing such.~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

Fire that egg up! How many times are you going to have this opportunity?

Shovel? Doesn't it all just melt eventually?

I would say “welcome”, but appears you’re just borrowing our weather.

Better to shovel often, before it gets too thick. Shoveling 3" twice is infinitely easier than shoveling 6". Also, you probably want a 1" layer of snow on top, better traction on snow than ice. If you have standing water when it starts to hit dusk, get the broom or squeegee out before it freezes.Love you bro!

It rained first, so I think we already have that. It should be in the 40s by the weekend. It's not like they're taking care of the streets, so I'm not going anywhere.

Same. We got about 4". Not planning to go anywhere for 2 days.
Someone got mad at me for cancelling their kid's procedure. They have a 2hr drive, one way. I could not get through to them that they shouldn't be on the road for 20 mins, let alone 4 hrs.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

That is more snow than we've had in Minnesota all winter so far.Stillwater, MN

When I lived in NYC long ago, we had a mayor named John Lindsey. When there was a big snowfall one winter, the city did a really horrible job of plowing the streets, and many neighborhoods were completely cut off. When reporters gave the mayor a hard time about his seeming lack of concern, his reply was classic: "God put it there, and God will take it away."
And yes, he was a one-term mayor.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning. -
