Scheduled 2 for Feb 20th and 3 for March 8th. That should give me some wiggle room on who is ready when. @SamIAm2South of Columbus, Ohio.

Great to see him get there given he is hard-over with retiring at the end of this season.

Thinking about making more pineapple salsa . I picked some jalapeños at dad’s before changing his flat tire and taking him to get new tires. Some of the jalapeños are ripe(red) so it might be a fun experiment.

Hope you folks are safe. Just got an update from a friend in Cape Breton, they’re safe but lost power, wind gusting badly, lots of damage to trees and power lines, many roads unpassable.Stormbringer said:Bracing for impact … SWMBO is excited about this

@Stormbringer - was thinking the same thing regarding riding out the storm. But you get to leave the destruction in the rear-view mirror, at least this trip.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! @Canugghead @lousubcap thanks for asking. We made it out of the chalet this morning. A tree went over during the night preventing us from leaving, a local with a chainsaw made short work of it.We are now in a house overlooking St. Margaret’s Bay, there is no electricity but we have a gas stove, a roaring fire and plenty of wine.

Was thinking about you all, Canada isn’t used to this level of storm. On our gulf coast, building codes call for all kinds of storm mitigation. Hope the same exists for that areaStormbringer said:@Canugghead @lousubcap thanks for asking. We made it out of the chalet this morning. @Stormbringer Glad life progresses at an altered pace with a bit of a challenge. Hopefully this satisfies the storm chaser desires as Mother Nature takes no prisoners.
Stay healthy and safe out there-and safe travels across the pond.

Just spent an hour with online help from mackeeper. After updating the Macs software the antivirus wasn't starting when I log on. Apparently reinstalling is their standard procedure, this is twice in this year.

Deleted facebook. I'm f*ckin sick and tired of the interface going out of its way to make sure nothing works.

Preparing for hurricane season by taking down the shade sails above the spa decking. Removed all PVC post caps and cleaned in 30 second cleaner. This is the pole at the South West end of the house.

The small south sail is almost down. All of the stainless steel rigging hardware will be removed except the for the small brackets that hold the two small connectors still attached to the structure. Those hanging adjustable connectors shown in the photo have been removed.
South section removed. You can see the rigging required to handle the normal winds. The turn buckles can be adjusted after I rehang the shade sails.
Getting started on the North West shade sail section.
Done removing the North West sail.
The full 35 gallon rain barrel will stay but the PVC pipe for draining the spa, the deck box, and the spa vacuum will be stored inside if needed.
The shade sails are neatly folded with their attached hardware and stored in the shed, along with the clean post caps. It took me just about two hours to complete this task. I know from experience that it will take longer to put the sails back up. @GrateEggspectations - no trip to my favorite hospital room was required today. Will endeavour to refrain from repeating the previous experience..
