Butchers or Bakers in NOLA?

I’ve been planning some new experiments since I got my Alto Shaam food warmer and was planning on coming over to shop at Restaurant Depot. But I’m sure I can find at least a few choice cuts at a smaller better butcher.
I also want to get back to baking and need a new starter culture so if someone knows a good artisan bakery that may sell me a loaf of sourdough and a cup of starter that would be great too.
any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I added my last brisket because you are all picture nuts.

And if any of you guys would spare some starter, I’d be willing to come over in the RV and cook a brisket or something for trade/ fun.nolaegghead said:XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum -

I killed my last few starters, but I’ll ask a couple friends who are master chefs and let you know. When are you coming down?

@Thatgrimguy I double dare you to go over to NOLA, and leave without what you seek/need.
All kinds of folks on the interwebz are ready to send you SD starter. Da Googlz.
Old standby= https://carlsfriends.net/source.html
Lastly, not artisanal, but I'd be happy to send you some dehydrated SD starter.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Hey Scott, if you need a place to park the RV you can park it at my shop. I have hookups too. Have a vehicle if you need.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Sounds like you’re pulling out all the stops here just for another opportunity to put Scott’s meat in your mouth…nolaegghead said:Hey Scott, if you need a place to park the RV you can park it at my shop. Not sure where you’ll hit a bakery willing to sell sourdough starter. No one west of NOLA for sure. Not many sourdough sources in Louisiana

Piece of meat is great, although expensive. Get the prime pork chops from Langenstein's (ask them if they have a whole roast). My starter is alive, but in kind of bad shape right now.NOLA

Piece of meat is remodeling. Restaurant Depot was closed due to power issues that started right before we rolled up. Cochon was slammed... Ended up at Whole Foods. I wanted to go to Langenstein's but my wife was done driving around at that point.buzd504 said:Piece of meat is great, although expensive. But I did get a solid loaf of Sourdough and found a really nice looking bottom round which will work for the pit beef I want to make. I was looking for a Prime sirloin roast but this well marbled pasture raised bottom round should work just as well!XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum -
