Milk breads have been all the rage this past year. This popped up on YT, so figured I’d take a crack at it.
Wool bread (supposed to look like a bowl full of yarn balls).

Decent for the first try. May try a sourdough version soon.
A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Dude, that's a beautiful loaf of bread.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

I wanted a plain loaf, so didn't fill it with cranberries. But, you could add all sorts of things... nutella, nuts, cream cheese filling, etc.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
and that's what it was supposed to look like

So, baking to me, is better than chefing. I’m a little biased. Nothing more rewarding than knowing you made 140,000 loaves of bread at the end of the day. @caliking, no way I bake at home, too many work war wounds to do that. Great looking product for your first attempt! I have no doubt you’ll double down on it and impress us even further

Looks incredible. If everyone wiped the lens on their phones before taking their food pr0n (and put 1000 ms of thought into composing the shot), this place would look much prettier.

Beauty. May have to substitute cream with milk if we try this, since we seldom use whipping cream.
Coincidentally, swmbo tried something remotely similar recently, not as pretty though

@caliking did you have to adjust the bake time because you used a Staub DO instead of a cake mold?____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli

No, these new phone cameras are crazy good. I got the same. I was thinking about a new dslr but splurged on a 12, instead.caliking said:

The chef of the house (not me) has been cake baking lately. I am winning!

Those look mighty tasty! Hua juan? I'll try making this. Caliprince would love it. Do you add cornstarch to the dough? I remember doing that for making bao.Canugghead said:Beauty. May have to substitute cream with milk if we try this, since we seldom use whipping cream.

And, you can probably add butter instead of cream. I think it would still turn out great without the added fat, but the fat will make the crumb more tender.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

You’ve inspired me. I plan to make exactly this over the weekend. Zero chance it will come out anywhere near as pretty as @caliking’s but I bet it will taste great!GrateEggspectations said:
