I used to hunt from a stand but got tired of hanging out in the breeze. As for the squirrels, if they aren't playing in my yard I don't bother to pick up the rifle because the deer aren't going to cooperate either. Since I hunt on my own property it's not like I lost an opportunity. Understand completely if travel, money or time is involved in the hunt. I am retired and pot hunt only.

I'm pretty sure this is why God invented service stations. You don't even need to go to VW dealers. Life's too short anymore to spend it doing things you don't want to, and re-inventing the wheel every time. Let a workin' man earn a living!
I was a Volkswagen guy for the first decade of my driving. With 6 kids, VW is not an option. It's a love hate relationship. To replace an alternator on one, I had to loosen the motor mounts to jack up the engine so the alternator would have proper clearance for removal. The alternator cost was 10x that of a previous Ford alternator I had replaced.WeberWho said:

Ouch. That's not fun. The Chevy Lumina was the same way with spark plugs. The best way to get to the rear spark plugs was to take a strap to the motor and remove the rear motor mounts. It sounds like VW and Chevy hired the same guys who've never picked up a wrench in their life.kl8ton said:WeberWho said:

The guys brother designed the firewall in 10th generation F150s. The #4 spark plug is almost impossible to get out without lifting the body. Couple that with a coolant fitting right above it that is prone to leaks during heating cycles and you have a headache. I wonder how many early 2000 F150s have an original plug in the #4 cylinder?WeberWho said:

Trying to get ready for the for the gradual phase in for retirement has been a lot of work, and it has not been easy for me. With the resurgence of the pandemic, and its impact on work, plus dealing with a small bit of personal health issues, has kicked my butt, pretty hard the last few months.
Hopefully, I will get back to posting on the forum pretty regularly, and, hopefully, making fewer folks angry in the process.
Peace,y'all.

I bought a '77 VW bus my first year in Albuquerque, and it was a dream to work on. I did have to pay $850 to have a new clutch put into it, but otherwise was trouble-free. Sold it 5 years later for what I paid for it, $2,000 (I was PCSing to Grand Forks and wanted a real heater). I miss that thing.kl8ton said:

Just ordered a 50lb sack of this. Apparently, from what I've gathered over at the pizza forums it's essential for true NY style pizza, with a higher protein % than King Arthur bread flour.

...and a case of this. I've spotted 7/11 tomatoes in numerous pizza joints around the US, but never in a grocery store. Today I lucked up and found a local restaurant supply cash 'n carry that stocks them by the case.

Finally started to put my Large back together after the hurricane. After taking the bands completely off I figured out that one hinge spring has been stretched too much. About to go waste my time seeing if ACE has one in stock. Also decided that I will have to talk to Ron soon, all these years and BGE is still using those cr@ppy gaskets.

Well I am surprised , they had the springs for $7.74 for a pair.
