Happy Father's Day all!
Was not planning anything but picked up some picnic shoulders because they were .88 loonie a lb. Scored one and rubbed with simple salt, sugar, baking powder last night. Spinning now, haven't decided how to finish or what sauces to make.

Egging 5 lbs of Flap Meat for Carne Asada Tacos, with a side of Cilantro Lime Rice, home made Pico de Gallo and scratch made refried beans. If I were energetic, I'd make my own flour tortillas, but by the time I need to tortillas, I am likely to be several beers into the day....so store bought tortillas it is!

Prime ribeye cooked medium rare/medium and basted in garlic herb butter with a baked potato and key lime pie for dessert.

I did tri tip. Rubbed with granulated garlic, smoked sweet Spanish paprika, guajillo and Urfa Chilis. Smoked with apple wood and hickory at 225 to internal of 115, then cranked to 500 and seared to internal of 131.

Modified pepper stout beef a little. Marinated a Pike’s Peak Roast in a mixture made by my daughter - a little vinegar, honey, whiskey, aromatics, salt, and some other things. Replaced 2/3 of the Guinness with 1/3 chimichurri, and 1/3 apple habanero BBQ sauce. It was outstanding. And I got a sous vide for Fathers Day so we did some whiskey honey carrots. FYI, we didn’t think about the fact that the alcohol couldn’t evaporate off... until later.
And some manchego cheese that was marinated in wine - then smoked - then fried in panko - with smoked olives.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

@caliking, the smoked cheese thing with smoked olives is a lot of work. The first time we make it we couldn't find Manchego cheese so we did it with Asiago as a substitute. This time we found Manchego. We agreed that Asiago was better.
