Greetings friends,

well. NC Governor Cooper made the right call by desperately limiting the social distancing we voluntarily enjoyed, and closed all restaurants and bars, by executive order. 

So. Expect more BGE posts from me. Albeit, not from the mobile site. 

Things here are pretty awful. My year has just been terrible on multiple levels, personally and professionally. But - if it saves even one life to make it so we can all go out to eat and drink healthily later, I’m all for it. 

My hope is you all are well. Take care of each other.

    Going to work is eerie.  With hardly any traffic, it feels like traveling on a major holiday.  Then I get to work and an armed deputy wearing a giggle and mask takes my temp.  Then he asks me these questions three, ere the other side I see.  “Have you traveled outside the country in the last two weeks?  Have you had contact with anyone who has?  What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?”

    There is a lot of that going around. I live in a coastal tourism area. All of the casinos have closed and are laying off their employees. We are talking thousands in a two county area. Restaurants have closed or are doing drive through only which means more hundreds unemployed. Fortunately I am on a pension and have all debts but one car note paid off. I am very fortunate. Best of luck to you and the others less fortunate.

    Sorry to hear this.  We just got told to furlough our machine operators across the entire company.  Luckily it will be half on one week and off the next so they will be getting some money.  We will certainly miss shipments due to this.  (Luckily Boeing is getting a huge check to pay for all these parts they won't be receiving for the planes they aren't building or flying...)

    Any chance you could offer a meal pick up or delivery service from home? Or personal chef for people? I know it’s not legal but those guys are busy doing other ****. Lots of people who have no idea how to cook stuck at home.

    On  lighter note, I heard that Philly police were ordered to essentially ignore petty crime including drugs and prostitution as other issues are more urgent.

    I think bartering is one thing that we can always do. Trade your skills for any resources.

    Sorry to hear this!! Our local eateries are doing curbside or delivery if that's an option for you. The Iowa governor also shut down bars and restaurants for in house dining as well. My wife's dental office was shut down by the ADA for anything besides emergencies which will have to be picture or facetime documented and approved by the Dr before coming into the practice. The wife is going from full time to 2 days a week. Tighten up the belts and keep washings those hands.

    Not ignore. They are ticketing offenders and they will be summoned to court at a later date. Unless a violent crime, no ID,  or pose some sort of danger, people are not being taken to the station for processing. 
    How that is going to work I do not know.  There is already a massive backup in the courts.

    My sister had to close her 110 kid daycare at the end of the day tomorrow. She plans to pay her employees until she can open again. She has good employees and she got them all certified. So it’s pay them or lose them. The liability of being open while the schools are closed is just to high.
