Nola’s Old Threads Reminded Me

Options
Back in the day, when I first got on this forum, I thought Nola was insane.  I mean try to imagine being relatively new here and this guy has a thread where he’s trying to prank his wife with a horse’s head.   I suspect some of the new members here are having similar thoughts.

He is insane by the way.  I wasn’t wrong about that!   He’s hilarious too though.  One thing that is true about hanging out with Carey is that while you might die, you will not die from boredom.  And that, my friends, is a good thing.

Carey on.

It’s really too bad he’s not on Insta and YouTube, he could be a yuge influencer and do instructional videos and stuff.  Maybe some giveaways.

Super nice guy. Posted a question about cars and he gave me an hour of his time by phone (thanks again Carey!).

Unstable on your feet is a little different.  That I’ve seen for sure.

Nola was one of the first Eggheads I reached out to when I had several questions as a new forum member.  He was kind and helpful. Like...a midwestern kind of nice.  He made this Nebraskan from flyover country feel welcome.

Yeah that was at campsight 77.

That sent people fleeing towards the lake. Some of them we have never seen again.

A pagan ritual ensued soon thereafter, fueled by bourbon slushies.

The tree, seen in the background of the "smaller" fire lost all the "lower hanging branches" up to 45 feet, from the towering inferno.

Ash and smoke damage was more impressive the following morning in daylight.

The RV only lost one side, and the canopy arms remained. I must admit the melting of a Yeti 65 over 30 feet away was impressive.

Let us not single one of this group of misunderstood geniuses as insane. Anybody that was there, was at the very least, certifiable, including the photographer.

To say the least this world would be less illuminated, without my friend Carey.

One of the coolest I have ever met.

And for some the bourbon slushies were a much more involved event.
