Here’s a pic with 3 - after some shrinkage. I started them on 2 different levels because with 3 on one level there would not have been any space between them.

This is what I needed to see. I drew a 24” circle in some butcher paper and came up with 3 racks as well. In only have one rack so I couldn’t tell if one would fit some other way. This is pretty much what I thought perfect pic though. Thanks!Foghorn said:

I have done 7 racks on the XL, but used rib holding racks to do it.

Laying properly flat with an extender grate - 3-4. Without a 2nd level grate then 2 unless you don't mind them sitting over the platesetter's afterburners.

Is cutting 2 of the racks in half an option? Buggers up the aesthetics, and the half racks need to be tended a bit, but would get it done.
Weber used to make a rib rack that I liked the best, because it was longer (wider?) than most rib racks. Academy has something similar now.

The AR got me there. It was tight and I had to move a couple racks around during the cook, but I got it there.
