What is everyone making for the the 4th? I'm having a difficult time deciding what to make not going to be doing much probably just myself and the wife and I have obligations on Friday unfortunately that will keep me from celebrating as much as I would like to.

I've got a prime brisket from Sam's in my fridge I plan to throw on tomorrow night.  I haven't done pizzas in a while so I may fire a few of those up too.  The variable will be how much of my wife's family comes over

We are going with classics: spare ribs and hot dogs. Still debating the sides.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

@lousubcap - we’ve had a fruitful year so far.  I’ve already harvested at least 30 peppers from that one plant.  And kudos to you for feeding the first responders on the 4th.

THANK YOU @fishlessman.  Your timing is perfect.  My wife is at the store now.  I just saw your post and texted her to get a watermelon.

We will be on the boat during the day with a bunch of friends.  I smoked a butt on the egg Friday and froze it.  Will heat up the bbq and cook some hamburgers and hot dogs when we come in.  Probably be around 12-15 people at the house.
