To each their own. The non Vax crowd are some of the same ones that you will see in their yoga britches at the local farmers market buying raw milk because it is “natural”. There is a reason that Louis Pasteur is lauded as a hero for his life saving techniques to process milk. (He also creates a few vaccines) Progress in science has helped increase the life expectancy of humans. Hard to imagine that someone would not want to enjoy some improvements and protections for life.

Would be helpful to get an idea on who's coming in the country and gather a but of their health history.
Almost as bad a bringing foreign wood into a campsite.

With our idiocy around vaccination, it actually seems like other countries should be asking this of their visitors from the US.

I wonder, if a kid with measles identifies as a kid who doesn't have measles - does the kid still have measles? Maybe the doctor can just ask the kid what their truth is...

Same with an unvaccinated kid. If he identifies as a vaccinated kid, does he still have to get vaccinated?

I like where this is heading....
If a kid from U Kentucky self identifies as a National Champion......

One of my all time favorite Stephen King books. Wish they would remake the movie. Off topic here, but did you read his book 11/22/63. Another favorite of mine.

Interesting tidbit for any other statistics geeks:
The average age of pioneer Americans in the mid-1800s was around 36 years. But if you eliminate all deaths of children 5 and under, it jumps up into the late-50's!
I've worked in the reliability field for much of my career, and many items, particularly electronics, follow a "bathtub curve" failure rate: Say you sell a thousand transistor radios. Many of them will fail early on, often upon first turning them on. Once those are cleared out, the reliability rate is at its highest (failures at their lowest), but as they age more and more of them die, and failure rate creeps back up (hence the "bathtub curve"). The initial die-off is morbidly referred to as the "infant mortality" rate! [/geek]

Interesting points, Botch. I wonder what would happen to our life expectancy stats today, if they counted all the elective pregnancy terminations in the stats.

I’m 37. I have a 4 year old son who has 2 kids in his daycare that are basically allergic to themselves. No dairy, no gluten, no peanut, no grass, etc. Is it just me, or was no one allergic to **** when we were kids besides the occasional peanut?
-
Good friend of mine has a child the same way. Everything you listed and more, including soy. Every day the kid gets 3 shots minimum and up to five, not to mention has really bad dry skin. They litterally have to oil him up every morning. He has been to specialists in Philly, NY, Chicago and CA. I feel bad for the 6year old who is actually smaller than his 4 year old brother.
I do not want to get into a debate that can get as opinionated as charcoal and politics, but in extensive conversations, it *appears* glyphosates (the active ingredient in many herbicides like roundup) could be a major contributing factor. The hypothesis is that it is accumulating in the soils and concentrating in our food - either in the vegetables we eat or the meat since the animals eat grass/hay which has been sprayed with it. If you think about it - 40-50 years ago, was it around? (Not sure when it came out) Then in the 80-90s you knew a kid here and there with an allergy. Now how many have issues? The rates are on a bell curve lagging just behind rates of its application. The stuff works, that is true. I have stopped using it on my property and once again I have worms, frogs and other little critters.
Take that however you want. I will not comment again on it again, but is something to think about.

Fwiw, I had horrible allergies to grasses, molds, pollens, etc. when I was a kid and had to get shots every week in an allergy clinic. No food allergies.
I didn’t outgrow them, but they lessened as I grew out of childhood. I was far from the only one getting weekly shots for allergies back then (late 60’s, early 70’s) and knew kids at school that had food allergies. I have no idea if the prevalence has increased, but it was around and not uncommon when I was a kid.
Love you bro! -
My mom is an RN , and she had a few kids that would come over to get allergy shots when I was young.

To take this even more off topic, what should I be killing weeds with on my property if Roundup is a no no?
-
A weed burner comes to mind.
-
I love my weed burner for spot-killing weeds in my raised beds during the winter but it's not a very efficient or feasible solution the rest of the year. If I lived in a subdivision with a tiny yard that may be different, but for now 2,4-D and Glysophate are mandatory for property maintenance.
To throw out a counter anecdote... there's been no shortage of worms, frogs and other little critters. Quite the opposite actually.

Who said you can’t? You can use what you want. The stuff works and there is no debate about that fact.
