ABTs for lazy folks, I guess

The other day I was shopping at Kroger. First time I've ever seen them there, but they were selling ABTs which were boat style and only contained philly cheese and wrapped with just a half piece of bacon. Their price? $1 each!
Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I spotted this at whole foods. For people who don’t have kitchen shears I suppose. I think it will be as much work opening the package as it would be to spatch the chicken yourself. Didn’t catch the price.

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old so Trader Joe’s is more popular with us right now in general. -

Lazy?Not everyone is making a batch of these things and needing to buy a dozen jalapenos, a brick of cream cheese, a pound of bacon, etc., etc.Sometimes, I'm guessing, some folks might just want to grab three or four to go with a quick nightly meal after a long day at work. I'd also bet that some folks have never even heard/seen these things before and might want to just buy a couple to give them a try.The lazy folks are the ones that don't make/cure their own bacon to make ABT's. At at least I grow my own jalapeños but the real Eggers are the ones who grow their own pre bacon.

For the level of effort and quantity of ABT's I crank out on a recurring basis (if you're gonna do 15 might as well do 30 and use the whole pound of bacon (half strips)) there is no friggin way I will use home cured bacon. But to each his/her own.Edit: Those ABT's described by @RRP are here at that price point and have been for several months.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Not a fan of the boat style. I go whole pepper and whole piece of bacon. So, I'll buy 16 nice size jalapenos when I'm ready to roll a batch out.

Every time I go thru my Kroger/Dillion’s I see these by the chicken & steak kabobs. Twice the price of making them from scratch. But they seem to sell well!

took so long to make the abt's the first few times i would have paid a buck each. its down to maybe less than a minute a piece now. for something so simple i dont understand why it used to take so long. the market basket i buy from started making bacon wrapped scallops, 24 for 16 bucks, they must have a huge holiday overstock to be putting them out for that price. decent sized

My wife makes popper dip and it’s always a big hit. Last Summer Norah Grace and I experimented with jalapeño popper stuffed burgers, they were amazing.
