@lousubcap Following up on this after several cooks. I gotta say Wicked Good is pretty dang good lump. It lights fast, burns hot, and lasts a long time. In my opinion, its not as clean burning as Rockwood but it’s not far off. I had a little trouble keeping the temp down on a low and slow. It’s been great for the standard high heat cooks. A couple of times, I let the temp get away because it heats up so fast.lousubcap said:@DoubleEgger - dang- missed that. I know you are well aware of their quality control issues of a few years ago but all reports indicate they are well beyond that. I used it all the time (could buy locally) til the hic-cup and timing is everything. Rockwood to the rescue-haven't looked back. Let us know how it burns.
I still think Rockwood is the overall best out there but Wicked Good isn't far behind. I understand that there are some environmental concerns about the harvesting of the wood (deforestation) . You may want to look into that if that’s your thing.

SWMBO wanted soup for dinner. I said it's only 107 outside today, why would you want soup?

SV‘d a strip steak. 128 for four hours. Then super hot and super fast on the large.
Next time I will DX the SV. Long time for not a great benefit.

Added some great store bought Chimmichurri for the win!

Actually, there's really no pain involved now, not chewing on the implant is Dr's orders.Ozzie_Isaac said:
Oh man, no bueno. Mouth pain is one of the worst. Hope it gets better.Botch said:Crappy weekend.
I've been having to chew on one side of my mouth the past three weeks, tooth implant on the other side. Sat down to a perfectly grilled ribeye yesterday, then the bridge on that side of the mouth came loose. So, basically, I can't chew at all. Cottage cheese and yogurt are getting old.
So are tooth issues.
On the other side, what did you do.with the ribeye? Blender and mix with cottage cheese?
Fortunately the dentist was able to squeeze me in 0930 this morning, and I hadn't mangled the bridge (like I did last time) and he was able to glue it back in, gratis! I've got some 5-Minute Epoxy to take care of future events...
I considered a Ribeye Smoothie, but wrapped it in foil and froze it, wept softly, and ate the cottage cheese plain.

I wanted to pass along that my wife and I had a much needed date night this past Saturday. We went to the movies.Unfortunately, that trip to the movies resulted in us seeing Crazy Rich Asians.Do yourself a favor, if you find yourself in a similar situation, get food poisoning. It is a better alternative than sitting thru that again. You're welcome in advance.=======================================
