Every day is Saturday to me, having to make decisions of what to do (or not) each day, what to eat at night, when to get up.  Life gets tougher all the time.

Work for a German company as a logistics coordinator that makes a feed supplement for hog and poultry industries.  We ship it all over the world.  We will begin making an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for salmon farming in 2019.  Always looking for the next door that may open.  Like to get back into the legal field

Typical workday is 10-2 with a 20-minute commute (when I go to the office which I do at least 4 days/week to get the hell out of the house); at this stage of the game part time is all I can muster.  Kids are grown, wife is long gone & I just don’t give a fvck about stuff enough to work any harder for it - have a nice crib, some fun toys & a cool girlfriend so the way I see it I already won.  Exceptions occur when I have to be in court in the morning or if a deposition drags on in the afternoon then it is what it is, but those instances are few & far between as compared to when I was employed by others.

Surgical Tech/First Assistant. For ten years I worked in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Left to work for the much smaller hospital three miles (seven minutes) from my house, three years ago, to be closer to home and always available for my kids.

I work 0700-1530 most days. Take seven days of call per month. I worked fourteen yesterday fixing a few broken bones and delivering three babies via c-section. Fourteen in an OR might seem like a long time, but it goes quick and it's incredibly satisfying. Also, 14 straight in an OR will buy a new large.
    Nice.

I work in the hospital as well, 12s, that end up more like 13 after no lunch and bedside reporting off.  20 min commute through town.  Have a smaller hospital 5 min away, but I love my Mgr, staff, patients, new nurses, students, too much.  It's a pretty darn good gig.

Had an all day 8hr workshop yesterday.  It was brutal, as the time stood still.  Makes you appreciate being busy.

As crazy as the floor is, it is rewarding, as each day is different.
For some strange reason, I don't see myself sitting around taking all day to decide what to egg during retirement.  I left a plastic injection molding plant due to the repetitive prison sentence bore.  Nothing wrong with it, just not my gig for 30 years when looking ahead.

I'm a grunt, and I'll just stay in the trenches, working as hard and long, as I can.
I do see myself maybe getting a Minnie Winnie and exploring travel nursing in my 50s.  My house has a perfect spot for it.  I look at floating now as training. Lol
    We'll see.

The big hospital was 45 minutes without traffic, 1:15 with. I didn't care for the manager. The one before or after. If it had been 20, the choice would have been tougher.

Kudos for still digging the 12's. I worked 7p-7a through college as a CNA. That sh!t is tough. I'm a combat Marine, and I'll tell you that sh!t is tough.

I'm on board with the traveling. My youngest is 12, I'm 40. When he's done with school and off the payroll, I'm traveling in a Minnie Winne with a Mini Max.
You clearly made the right choice my friend.

I think grinding in traffic over an hr one way is tough.  There is no way I could live like that.  An 8 hr day is 11.  But I'm fortunate.  Everything in the corn patch is distanced by minutes, not miles, not traffic, etc.

Sounds like a great Minnie Winnie plan my friend, towing the MM along.  I'm sure my small and table, nest, and Specialized hybrid, will find a place on the MW.

Selling plumbing $hit to plumbing wholesalers. One of the many gigs over the years. Can’t believe 20 years ago I started out as a respiratory therapist working trauma.

Lighting Geek- this week I'm in Chicago at the annual Lighting Show.  Unless I'm on a plane I work out the house and at lunch I roll one of the MTBs out of the garage and do 8-12 miles depending on how much time I have before another call.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.
