Meatball Shakshuka

Tried a new recipe tonight, Meatball Shakshuka.
Used the BGE Paella to cook some onion and pepper.
After, the onions were mostly carmelized, I added some canned tomatoes, salt, cumin and smoked paprika. Reduced the sauce, added the meatballs and simmered until finished.

Served with white rice and broccoli

Thanks for looking.

Those meatballs look off the chain. Anything different in the recipe vs a standard issue meatball?

Meatballs were as follows.DoubleEgger said:Those meatballs look off the chain. Anything different in the recipe vs a standard issue meatball?
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs with 2 minced cloves of garlic whisked in
1 cup of bread crumbs.
They were pretty tasty, but a little dry. I’d go lighter on the bread crumbs next timeXL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA -
Try using milk soaked loaf bread instead of the bread crumbs.johnnyp said:

It probably does. Idk, never had an authentic version. I just followed an internet recipe.XL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA -
If you like eggs, drop a few eggs in the pan. They sort of poach in the sauce, and pick up the flavors of it. Great with rice, pita, etc.johnnyp said:Mattman3969 said:Nice meal. I always thought Shakshuka had eggs in it.
