Made a pot of chili for tomorrow. Loosely based on @EggObsessed Award Winning recipe. Cut back on the heat, used an orange sweet pepper in place of about 1/3 of the celery, and used spare rib meat I had in the freezer.

Picked up some @MeatChurch Deez Nuts rub today, figured I'd give it a try on spatchcock chicken that has been air drying in the fridge since last night.

I did a 16 lb prime from Costco last weekend, probably 14 after trimming cooked at 225 and took 12 hours.YukonRon said:Put a 14.8 lb prime Brisket on the BGE last night @225F dome, 17F ambient outside. Thinking about 1.15 hours/lb for the cook, for an estimated 17.1 hour cook.
This brisket, wanted out of the cold in a hurry. Almost no stall, completed in less than 11 hours total. Second one I have had like this. Both were Costco prime.
Probed like butter using the toothpick. BPTC, for the duration.
Cow drove this one._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

Spent a good chunk of the afternoon walking a trail along the broad river here in Columbia. You really should get out more and enjoy the outside.Sea2Ski said:Doing some prep for dinner. Trimming meat, cutting meat, mixing stuff, preparing veggies etc.... Things like that.... And in a few minutes, I will be going out and lighting the egg since it is above 30F now. There was no need to rush it this morning.

I love ribeye cap. However, my 15 year old son, who normally inhales anything remotely edible, refuses to eat the cap. It’s a win for me, though, because he gives his to me.Dobie said:Costco score

I attempted low and slow boneless beef short ribs. It was a total fail - should have been hot and fast apparently. I did however nail the Brussels Sprouts.Lg & MM BGE, Humphrey’s Battle Box | Palatine, Illinois

Got the XL cleaned out and fully loaded with Rockwood lump. Canopy is up to keep me out of the elements(rain/snow). Cooking a SRF black brisket for a super bowl party at my wife's family tomorrow.
Having a beer and watching some hockey right now. Up early for the light and start. Hoping for a quick, successful cook.

Went out with new friends tonight (the daughters friends parents). The husband wanted us to come tomorrow for the supe bowl, but the wife wasn't too impressed with my drinking skills. (She doesn't drink, and want thrilled the husband had a beer). Oh well. More beer or me.

We don't do super bowl parties, WAYYY to long to have guests you may not know well. Count in the pregame, game, post game. I'm like "git off my lawn" old man. Now a round ball game lasts 2 hours, that I can handle.
The best things in life are not things.
