First tourny of the fall. 10 hrs at the yard. 3-1. Brought home the championship in the gold bracket.  Solid baseball all damn day.
Way to go all the way and get it done!

Lackey is Brett Favre'n it at this point.
Should've hung up the cleats a few years ago.

Cubs pen, does it, again.  Davis vs Lackey.  Tough choice for Maddon.

Red beard is still crushing it.
Yeah. If anyone was paying attention moving into the playoffs they knew this was a big issue. This is exasperated by the rainout and subsequent brutal finish to the previous series. They likely would have lost either way. We know for sure they lost this way. We will at least have him rested moving forward.  I’m on an island, but I would have started Lackey Game1 to get the rotation right and rested. Cubs are tired and wobbling!

Only 2 in, of possible 7.  This fight is far from over.  Back to the Friendly Confines for 3.  We just missed the playoff home stand.  Would've been a blast bar hopping around Wrigleyville during the games.  Love the baseball buzz of Chitown and St Louis...great baseball cities.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER
  • Damn I read maybe three posts in that prom thread and then it was nuked.  What happened?  Did @bgebrent start talking about how his prom date had four legs?

Just about to have our tea. Jerk chicken breasts (part boned) and thighs, crudites and toasted cheesy rolls / sour dough. Just need to pour myself another pint, Anne a glass of wine and get started.

Spent the day at the hospital with my father n law.  He thought it may be another heart problem but it turns out to be (maybe) reniel failure. His wife of 50+ years has inoperable cancer (she beat it once in the 80's).  I don't want pitty just good vibs and prayers.  They have a very good support group with family and church so it could be worse i guess. I love the guy to no end, he taught me how to grill when I was dating his daughter and still wet behind the ears.
    Thanks guys and gals.
One more thing.  It was very touching to see how much they love each other.  Very rare in this day and time.
