Didn't trump once say something along the lines of the president shouldn't be worried about the Washington Redskins name being changed as there were more important things to worry about in the world...Large and Small BGECentral, IL

I think you are criticizing facets of the NFL that are not actually the "socialist" parts, but under an umbrella of perceived "socialism". I don't disagree about the socialism insofar as it's an organization that shares and "redistributes" revenue in a play to make the teams competitive.westernbbq said:The NFL is the most profitable form of socialism in the world. Televison revenue sharing, government subsidized facility construction that the oligopoly profits from, all done under the myth of the greater good for all of us theory have turned me off to pro football. Oh and the NFL knew about the concussion issue long before CTE was named and the league attempted to cover it up.
I love the game and root for certain players but absolutely despise what the league has done to it. Cam Newton is great when he wins games and hands out footballs to kids but is an absolute weak example of a leader when he can't man up and face cameras after losing the super bowl and take responsibility. NFL owners arrogantly feel entitled to state of the art scoreboards at the expense of public education as in cininnati, or they want to retain corporate suite lease revenue in order to remain competitive.
Meanwhile spoiled brat millionaires, who exist under the blanket of the greatest, albeit not perfect, economic free market system in the world use their celebrity status to make a political statement have no idea what sacrifice, honor and integrity really mean.
The NFL is no longer about the game but rather all about image preservation, political correctness and audience expansion for the sake preserving, enhancing and discovering revenue streams.
Anyway, contrast the NFL to baseball or basketball. You still have the **** millionaires, yada yada. But some teams dominate more because of market strength and/or wealth of ownership.
Read this, buddy.

It's a shame some states/localities make it so hard for many people to vote.
It's pretty easy to vote but does require minimal effort sometimes for sure.
Why is election day in the US on a normal workday? That alone puts up an obstacle for many folks.
Many states don't readily allow absentee voting or early voting.
Many localities have been shown to limit the number of polling places and/or voting stations which creates lines with unnecessarily long waits.
I knew our agreement wouldn't last very long.
One of the main problems in the US is that voting rules/procedures are set up by 50 separate states and thus the rules/procedures can vary widely from state to state.
While in many states it seems their rules/practices are designed to be all inclusive but the opposite is true in many others.
That's quite a bit different from your statement that "It’s extremely easy to vote here compared to anywhere in the world." That statement is demonstrably untrue. Period.
A citizen of the US is exactly that - a CITIZEN of the US. Their ability and right to vote should not be left to the whims of 50 different states. It's also one of the reasons that federal involvement is necessary. A few months ago the Supreme Court decided to take another case this term regarding partisan gerrymandering.
