I love the game and root for certain players  but absolutely despise what the league has done to it.  Cam Newton is great when he wins games and hands out footballs to kids but is an absolute weak example of a leader when he can't man up and face cameras after losing the super bowl and take responsibility.  NFL owners arrogantly feel entitled to state of the art scoreboards at the expense of public education as in cininnati, or they want to retain corporate suite lease revenue in order to remain competitive.

Why is election day in the US on a normal workday? That alone puts up an obstacle for many folks.

Many states don't readily allow absentee voting or early voting.

Many localities have been shown to limit the number of polling places and/or voting stations which creates lines with unnecessarily long waits.

I knew our agreement wouldn't last very long.

It’s extremely easy to vote here compared to anywhere in the world. I agree there is prejudice in the system for those of us who work, but it’s manageable with advanced planning. Of course if you consider properly identifying eligible legal voters , it’s only a bit more difficult. 

That is just so untrue. Many countries make the whole process, starting with registration, much easier. Sweden for instance.

One of the main problems in the US is that voting rules/procedures are set up by 50 separate states and thus the rules/procedures can vary widely from state to state.

While in many states it seems their rules/practices are designed to be all inclusive but the opposite is true in many others.

A citizen of the US is exactly that - a CITIZEN of the US. Their ability and right to vote should not be left to the whims of 50 different states. We know for a fact that many states have many decades of practice of going out of their way to prevent many of our fellow citizens (particularly African Americans) from voting.
