A well deserved middle finger I might add.saluki2007 said:You guys do realize that the kneeling this weekend was about the NFL giving Trump the middle finger and nothing to do with social issues, right? I can't be the only one who understands this...They/Them

Wait, I thought Trump pushing this all to the forefront was simply his way of directing attention away from reports that his daughter and son-in-law may have been conducting government business on private email servers, which he and others have previously suggested should be grounds for imprisonment. Lots of moving parts with this one.saluki2007 said:You guys do realize that the kneeling this weekend was about the NFL giving Trump the middle finger and nothing to do with social issues, right? There is a big difference between using a private companies email system and setting up your own elaborate server system which is not discoverable by the authorities. This is a classic example of either profound ignorance of the masses or intentional misdirection by the liberal politicians and their willing accomplice, the MSM. I think both actually.StillH2OEgger said:

Protests tend to be things that end up bothering some folks. That's generally the way it goes.
But when did kneeling become a sign of disrespect? That seems a bit strange to me.
You know what's actually disrespectful of the US flag? The confederate flag. If you have a lot of problems with NFL players kneeling during the anthem, but don't take issue with folks flying the confederate flag, well...
I also dont understand why people are saying they're protesting the anthem. That seems very confused. Rosa Parks wasn't protesting public transportation.
I do agree with those who don't view this as a free speech issue. I think that's right. It's more likely a collective bargaining issue if the owners really want to fine players (and some coaches!) for this kind of thing. I don't think they do, however, and I don't expect them to. Besides, I don't view America as intrinsicallly the sort of country where superficial patriotism is forced, even in the workplace. That might just be me though.

To me all the protests are just stupid. As an American, I salute when I see Ole Glory being raised or flying high. When I hear the National Anthem, I stand quietly bye with hat in hand. It's called respect, no matter my thoughts or opinion on some of the politically correct nonsense.
My grandfather fought in WWII and the Korean War. In my opinion, we dishonor thousands of folks like him when we take a knee or do not salute. Rather you are a liberal or conservative, black or white, gay or straight, at a bare minimum you should show respect for your country.
A lot of that nonsense is directed at Trump. To me that is stupid as well. I assure you, no matter how much you may hate Trump, I hated Obama even more. I hate Obama with a passion. However, I still did not kneel during the National Anthem when he was president.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Going camping this weekend. If anyone has any Pittsburgh Kneeler gear/kindling, they want disposed of, let me know.

I tend to take a dimmer view of racism and white supremacy than anti-patriotism (though I do love our country dearly), but then the NFL players association also never endorsed Trump for president. Not sure why else Trump would be taking such a harsher stance with the NFL and its players.Stillwater, MN

I don't know if Trump is really taking a harsh stance on this, or just truly enjoys saying things that he knows will get people's panties in a twist. Maybe he was simply giving the people at the rally some red meat.StillH2OEgger said:I tend to take a dimmer view of racism and white supremacy than anti-patriotism (though I do love our country dearly), but then the NFL players association also never endorsed Trump for president. I saw a pundit on CNN saying he was "shocked!!" that Trump said what he did about the NFL. Trump called the leader of another country "Little Rocket Man," and he is shocked by this? -

Why is it SJWs like Kaepernick don't even registered to vote?

Most Americans don't vote. Perhaps we should be like many other countries where voting is mandatory by law.GATraveller said:saluki2007 said:Oh and Incase you didn't know Kaepernick was suggested to kneel by a veteran. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/heres-how-nate-boyer-got-colin-kaepernick-to-go-from-sitting-to-kneeling/amp/

Not sure we need more laws but I would love to see people exercise their right to vote rather than lay on the floor and pitch a fit.

Bravo for you folks encouraging everyone to vote while a major party (your guess is as good as mine) is doing the very opposite.bgebrent said:
