Welded a gate, unfrosted the most frozen freezer on the planet, got drunk, had people coming over for diner, slapped together some burgers. Made some square ones from fresh 90% with massive slabs of harvarti. Round from last time I made them.
Potato salad, debbiled eggs. Simple, Blackstone. Everyone loved 'em.

Hendoo's Jucita Lucita!
Why? Because it’s got that unmistakable South of the Border kick! This immigrant is so tasty, there’s no border wall that can keep it from exploding into your mouth. Your tastebuds will be stumbling around looking for towels and a cigarette after one session with the Jucita Lucita!
It all starts with the very freshest organic, grass-fed 85-15 beef -- you’ll know that those cows were muy contento after ingesting all that organic green, amirite? And that’s before the beef took on a generous load of Montreal seasoning and Worcestershire. Umami? Memami! Wemami!!
Only one set of gentle hands can play with my ginormous meat package! It's oooey, gooey Pepper Jack filling the cavity and lining the walls on the inside. And on the outside? Fredericksburg Farm Sweet Hot Jalepenos (courtesy of @sciaggie) + crispy chorizo rounds to give it my signature SpiCrunChi™ texture. One bite and you’ll wonder why you never porked your burger like this before!
It’s all tucked into a morning-fresh brioche bun – soft as Nancy Pelosi on crime and firm enough to stand up to Lucita's phat clappas -- firm like General John Kelley telling Omarosa she cannot walk into the Oval any time she wants to get the Boss all spun up with the latest from HuffPo. It’s finished off with a slather of Duke’s Mayo on both and bottom, crisp romaine, heirloom tomato and some freesh avocadoo to make this chica as cool and smooth as the other side of the pillow.
[Seriously – this was by far and away the best burger I’ve ever made. Win, lose or draw – this was a terrific throwdown, and my first Juicy Lucy, cheffed up on a bachelor Saturday night with but Abita PurpleHaze to keep me company!]
It's a 302 thing . . . -
Hard act to follow, Hendo... I might not know what "Kentucky jelly" is, but here goes!
........We're here in Suburban Baltimore cuz we heard there's a guy putting out totally legit Juicy Lucy's.
Wow, would you take a look at that! Gotta do "the hunch" for this one!
Right off the bat you got the soft sweetness of the lightly toasted brioche bun quickly followed by the smokey salty sweet bite of the bacon, blue cheese, and caramelized onions. The grilled flavor of the 1/2 pound grass fed beef burger is right on point. It's all brought home by the oozy goodness of a jumbo sunny side-up egg perched on top.
Kudos, JohnEggGio - that's money right there! That's one juicy Juicy Lucy! Totally legit - totally legit!
Oh, and thanks for the jelly - will keep my coiffe in order at least a week.

My juicy lucy is a little unconventional but came out delicious. Golden sponge cake stuffed with sweet cream. 10/10 would make again.
P.s - I highly recommend NOT googling "twinkie covered in KY jelly"

@Larrycg That is not my kid. My buddy Chris (who will be joining the forum this week) is a die hard. Bless his heart.
He he showed up and I said "and the visor? You can't feel good about that!?!"

My entry is called "Ode to the Buffalo".
An Italian meatball burger with ground bison and Buffalo mozzarella.
Prepped the bison as you would any regular meatball. Egg, milk soaked bread, Italian seasoning etc.
Burger getting comfy on the medium.
Sun dried tomato pesto and topped with marinara and freshly grated parmesan on a Ciabatta bun.
I had this imported from France. Only the best.
Thanks for looking!

Juicy Lucy, what can I say other than that name wasn't just given to her, it wasn't a modest loan from her father, she got her nickname the old-fashioned way, she earned it.
My wife has great insights. From the start, she had a vision and a plan that exceeded anything I would've come up with (million $ idea - let's do a slider...stuffed inside of a burger! maybe?). Nope, she had a plan to win this before I even confidently mentioned 'um, yeah, well, the thing is, there is this burger contest on the internet and it could be fun. What? No, I don't enter internet food contests. Pssshhht. No. I just take pics so I can remember what I made for another time. Geez, don't make this about me, I like your plan for vegetarian lasagna. Yes. I'm sure, I've always loved vegetarian lasagna. It'll be fine, probably wasn't going to win anyway. What? No, I didn't say anything. I said let's use lots of vegetables, healthy can be good too. And fun. Ok. I'll shut up.'
I feel like I'm in lasagna surgery here at Flavortown Memorial!
So it starts. Fresh zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms and spinach are procured. Doctored up some good sauce, made some tiny lasagna noodles, cooked down some italian chicken sausage flavored with red wine, and everything else you would put into a juicy Lucy. Dude, I've been stricken by chicken! Wine flavored chicken Italian sausage courtesy of TJs, great stuff if you're near a TJs. Bread in the oven (fresh from the HEB bakery). At this point, I'm mining for food in Flavortown river!
How money is that!
So let's get this bad girl bunned-up. Couple of slices of warm sourdough, melting butter, quick grind of Italian seasoning. The vision is becoming reality.
'No, I'm not trying to make this into a burger for some internet contest. Why would you even think that? I told you I love vegetarian lasagna, jeez, leave it alone already. I'm taking pictures so I can remember what you cooked'
I ended up building this horizontally, it just made more sense to show off my Lucy's layers of stuffed goodness. What? It doesn't look stuffed to you? Oh, most definitely stuffed, it's just that I didn't have bread large enough to assemble the pan-sized Juicy Lucy, so 'we' decided a sensible portion was a better choice.
This, my friend, is bordering on illegal. And I'm not talking about an ill eagle. No, really, I may have broken a few of the contest rules.
What a hot frisbee of fun! Short of screaming-hot Thai food, everything can be suitable for kids too! Lasagna burger. You're welcome.
Well, maybe not the truest entry going, more like a speed-bump in Flavortown. Honestly, I could put this on a flip-flop and it would taste good!

Made a few versions on Sunday during the afternoon football games for some people over. The favorite was a pizza juicy lucy, stuffed with pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, jalapenos, and grilled onions.

Ok, here's my entry from Sunday September 10th. I ended up doing two styles of Jucy Lucy. My daughter and youngest son didn't want a Jucy Lucy at all, so they got just a burger. My other son wanted a butter stuffed burger, and for myself and my better half I went with Swiss cheese/sautéed mushrooms.
The protein of choice was 1# of ground brisket and 1# of grocery store 93/7 beef.
Butter stuffed burger assembly:
Mushroom/Swiss assembly:
On the Hasty Bake, started on the direct side, finished indirect:
And my burger topped with mustard, tomato, onion, and lettuce on a Martin's Potato Roll, the only proper roll to serve:

@HendersonTRKing - best post and burgers so far IMO! The crispy chorizo and sweet-hot japs sound like a killer combo. I'm stealing this.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

All those burgers look absolutely fantastic. Hard to pic a winner from where I'm sitting. The look equally awesome.
With that said, brother Doubles title; "ode to the Buffalo" may sway my vote. I'm a huge supporter of the Buffalo.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
Status- Standing by.
