    Torn MCL, stained ACL, hyperrextenended meniscus. Fortunately, the only one torn is self heeling. 6 weeks in a mondo brace, all is good, I was stupid, but lucky.

    Backpacking with my wife, already muddy from boot to knee, from the waterfalls crossing the trail in several places, I (like the dumbasz I am known to be), tried to avoid another mud bog, on a narrow trail, next to a couple hundred foot drop off. Yeah, I decided that would be the time to not to step in more mud, as if it would even matter, got my foot caught in a crevice, twisted and fell backwards, over my knee, landing it with it under me. If I had fallen any other direction, I would have been dead. 
    If I would have just stomped on through the mud bog, no problem. I am an idiot.
    What is worse, I had to hike out another 2.5 kilometers, uphill, with several scrambles, to get back to the trailhead. I was not doing great. I did this April 2.
    I have decided, I do not want to do that again.
    That sucks but I bet it was a beautiful hike up to that minute.   Getting old sux.  I asked because I'm nursing my own Achilles' tendon strain (thank God It didn't rupture) from playing basketball w some buddies trying to recapture my own March Madness Glory Days!   
    Get well soon and heal well!

    We're pretty much on par with what we had last year, at least in terms of folks who have registered.  There are a bunch of delinquents who are definitely coming who are not registered.

    I'm guessing we'll have about 100 people or so for the event.  We should be fine in terms of capacity.

    The day comes when I start having issues with my achillies, is the day I am out of the backpacking trips, for good.
    I hope you get better soon, that is an injury that is so painful, and you can't prepare for it.
    It was an incredible hike, a beautiful geologic area. It is where the World Championships of Rock Climbing is held annually because the variety of rock structures are so diverse and challenging.
