I tried this with our local Costco but the manager told me that the local stores have no control over which cuts their meat departments carry. It is a regional decision and they don't seem to want to listen to their customers about what they want the store to carry. I think this is very short-sighted of them and the manager agreed but he has no part in the decision process.

You have a restaurant depot there in Marietta get a KCBS membership the angus briskets are under $3 a pound there.
I'm looking for prime. Those angus ones at RD at okay at best.
I know the supply chain varies by region but they are better than any Costco Brisket I've ever cooked of any grade. I got rid of my Costco membership because I was like 0-5 cooking Costco briskets. Longest slump I've had since I learned what the hell I was doing. Once I got off Costco briskets, slump over. I know some people down here like them but every time someone at work calls me and says "what did I do wrong" I start with "where did you buy it"? RD Superior Angus are great briskets. And I will take a CAB brisket over any prime brisket anywhere.
That's interesting. I would have thought that the Costco prime would have been superior to anything RD had to offer. My local RD is a sad looking dilapidated store. Not saying a run down place can't have good products, but I would think the odds would be against it.

Ours is pretty nice. I've never been to any location outside of Austin but I know that some of the better bbq restaurants here are running the RD Superior Angus Briskets. I've done a few of them and they are really good.

If I could get prime brisket for $2.99, I'd be in a permanent meat coma.

That's great news.  Maybe that means we will get them up here in Lancaster, PA, someday soon.

Were the flats and packers really the same price?

I was at Costco in Houston on Richmond yesterday and they have plenty of prime brisket packers in stock.  I am not sure of the price as I did not buy one.  I will post the price next time I go there.

Yeah meant costco specifically, but thanks for the tips. I usually go to local butcher, but may have to take the drive to shady maple on a saturday or sunday morning and hit the breakfast then grab some briskets.  B)

Anyone in Atlanta area who's close to the Morrow Business Costco?  I found Prime Brisket on the business website.(Link below)  They seem willing to deliver to 30339, but, not 30080.  I was wondering if they carry it as a regular item in that store and if we could just pickup just one brisket or do we have to get a whole case.  At $.289/lb, getting a case may not be a bad idea...

I called Costco a while back and no stores in the metro were carrying them. Says it'll ship to my zip 30062. Looks like a case is 14 briskets.

Local Costcos,  Sacramento Area of CA have prime packers from $2.29-$2.99/lb.   I've watched them bounce between these prices for the past year or so.
