    Just had dinner here in the UK, 2 Sirloins from the freezer.  Spring onions, asparagus and toasted baguette on the Egg as well. The very dead looking steak is Anne's, she has very well done so put that in low direct for 15 minutes before opening up to get the coals hot.  Just a bit of EVOO and seasoning on the steak, a rub of EVOO on the onions and melted butter brushed on the asparagus. I used to steam asparagus, but it's way better grilled on the Egg.

    Norlan on the left, Murano glass on the right.  The Norlan glass is nice, but the level of quality is not close to the Murano piece. Wouldn't necessarily expect it to be, but I thought it would be closer.  We'll see how it does with the spirits.

    Took me almost 2 hours to git home (I can make it in 24 minutes with no traffic) because some a-hole decided to shoot and kill his pregnant wife, then a cop and drive to the middle of the main bridge here in New Orleans and threaten to jump off.  He's been there for over 12 hours.  I'm a proponent of shooting him at this point.

    So the 5th busiest bridge (and the last over the Mississippi as you go downriver) in the US has been closed all day and it's seriously f*cked traffic for 30 miles around.  I ended up going two bridges up river.

    I'm a proponent of shooting the **** for shooting his pregnant wife, add the cop, means he gets tortured first. Then shot.

    Ah. Just enjoy what you like how you like it.

    I am a fan of fine things. I wish I could afford more of them. I enjoy the ritualistic aspects of things too. For instance, I like to remove a real cork from a nice bottle of wine. From cutting the foil to decanting to a swirl, it's the experience. A real nice glass just feels good in your hand. The weight and appearance are pleasing. 

    Now go out there and drink some scotch. Damn it!
