I'm having friends over for dinner tonight and was hoping to do a pork shoulder low and slow but had to travel for work and won't be home to start up the BGE until about noon. What is your favorite cook in 6 hours or less?

Yes, Ribs!

Butterfly a whole pork loin and stuff it with spinach, cheese, veggies, more meat, whatever. Wrap with bacon. Reverse sear low then hot. Under 3 hours including prep.

Well, you could do turbo butt, but I honestly think it will be later on the table than you might want. Depending on the crowd--I would do ribs if you want typical Q, or seafood, which is always quick.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

You could buy some country style ribs (the kind that are just sliced up butt) and do pulled pork burnt ends. Here is a post from @Dyal_SC following recipe from @SGH.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I also like turbo ribs. 1 hour for starting egg and prepping ribs, 2 hours tops for cooking the ribs, and 3 hours for relaxing on a Friday afternoon. You can get them done early and hold them FTC until you want to eat.
I run mine around 325 indirect. I like to remove the membrane, and I like a low-sugar rub so if the temp gets a bit too high they don't scorch.

My vote would be to grill something - it will reduce anxiety remember you want to have fun with your friends not just be focused in the cook and worried if it will be done“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”
