I like what you've done there.

I wanna put sides on it yet

Do you remove the fire box prior to transporting?

No I don't remove the fire box. Maybe others do, but this grill was made to move around. IMHO if it can't handle transport they shouldn't of built it that way. Js

Three wood shims gently pushed down between the egg base and the fire ring holds everything nicely for transporting my small.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN!

Awesome idea and resources to do that

I have traveled hundreds of miles with several eggs in cars, pickup truc and our motor home and I leave the fire box, fire ring, cooking grate, fire grate, sometimes used lump and dfmt inside the eggs no packing of any kind and no damage at all. If I was putting the egg in a pull behind trailer I might add some packing.
I'm only hungry when I'm awake!

I bought a small deco pillow at a yard sale last year. Stuffs nicely into the MM. I think it helps for travel. At least it keeps noise down."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

We travel with our MM in our 5th wheel. Leave everything intact and no issues. It rides in the basement of the 5th wheel.

Where do you typically take the MM that you feel the need to lock it up like that? Tailgating?
-
Can you cook and travel at the same time?;)
