Great forum: BBQBrethren.com
www.bbqbrethren.com
The guys there are super helpful. They can turn out great food on anything too. They have regular throwdowns and a classified forum. Also they moderate a lot better. They have a fun OT area but stupid sh*t isn't allowed to fly.
I used to spend a lot of time there till I found this forum. Guess I'm going back.
BTW all you KJ cooker guys you will be welcomed with open arms.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I joined recently. Now I want a shirley fabrications smoker so that forum may spend my money faster than this one. I should be able to get the stick burner I want for around $3k but that's the patio model.

Yeah I've got a feeling that a certain troll is driving folks away from this forum.

Not the troll so much as complete lack of care from BGE. If they have this resource and don't care to cultivate it then their loss. Pretty easy to ban a troll and watch IP address access.DoubleEgger said:Yeah I've got a feeling that a certain troll is driving folks away from this forum.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Don't leave man. Jump back and forth between the 2 forums. When it gets psychotic here, hang out over there. When the waters are calm, hang out here or on both. You will notice that there are some members from this forum that are Brethern as well. Both are great places.badinfluence said:Thank you for the heads up. Just registered there awaiting approval. I remember when forum trolling had a bit of class. Plays on words, epic burns, online vote manipulation .... Trolling used to have a tad of art and style to it.
Posting dirty photos is just lazy.
This used to be a much friendlier place. -
I will go to the other also but man I hope this one settles down. I have been here since day one of my first Egg and it has been so valuable. I have no problem with the Devastated thread. That was at least entertaining but some of the recent crap with the one moron that should not still be here is ridiculous.

@Ozzie_Isaac
Brother, another real good forum is TVWBB. Because most there use a WSM or KTG to cook on, every technique and recipe can be followed to the T on your egg. There is no vulgarity or nonsense at all on that forum. None. There is also a ton of recipes and archives there as well.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Hopefully Weber does a better job moderating their product.
-
@SGH I agree, TVWBB is one of my favorites. They have many long time members over there. We have cooked quite a few of the recipes. Great bunch of people. As is this forum.
Also take a look at the Texas BBQ Forum. Another great Q forum.

I have been exclusive to this forum but it looks like I'll be seeing a lot of you elsewhere. Makes me feel better about straying from here.

I'm actually on several forums. I use the SGH moniker on all of them except for one and there I'm SGH1.DoubleEgger said:looks like I'll be seeing a lot of you elsewhere.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Question. Is BBQBrethren only BBQ related cooks or is it like here where it's all types of food, just cooked on outdoor equipment?
-
I've been dating the BGE Forum exclusively for about 560 posts now, think I'm ready to start seeing someone else ... gonna apply @ Brethren. Now ... let's see if they accept me.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

You can post anything you want no matter where or what it's cooked on. Most things there are Q, but you see a lot of fish, breakfast and pretty much anything that you can think of. You will see every type of cook imaginable.ChillyWillis said:Question. They LOVE the webers over there. Be aware that the love for the big green egg isn't too strong over there. I'm a member there as well but I get tired of reading all things weber. I'm hoggie-rx over there, by the way.

They have some hidden stuff as well. When you are over there again, click your "CP" and look around a little. Nothing major, but worth checking out when you have nothing to do.Hotch said:They have many sub forums. Take a look.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

I'm not worried about him either. Just wish he were funnier and understood the game better like Tweev...er...veewt said above. There have been some great ones on here over the years including Tweev. Much of it very funny and very smart. This dude is neither so I have no interest.jls9595 said:Eh that one guy is weird but he won't run me off. I wouldn't mind checking out these other forums though. I didn't bother to send Rob an email as this will die down soon enough but if others want to, I think they should know where to send it.

I'm "dwenger" over there. I'll keep an eye out and start participating more.
I agree with Cen-Tex, this guy will probably go soon. He chose to do it on a holiday Sunday intentionally as the mods are more than likely maintaining a healthy work/life balance and not on top of things. More than likely he'll be gone Monday.

Oh, for goodness' sake!
Yes, there are a BUNCH of other very good sites out there. They were there last week.
And the week before that.
Now, because of One Guy, so many are acting all like . . .

Good grief.
For some of y'all, a hangnail must be sheer agony!
